Maryland guys all seem really confident he's a Terp lock.

Considering anyone a Terp lock is absurd. That's the equivalent of being a Rutgers lock or a Memphis lock. It's non existent they aren't a relevant program to lock down elite recruits regardless of them being in their back yard. Basically what we experienced with Golden and our back yard

That's more to do with the momentum the recruiting staff has, rather than anything McFarland himself has said. Which, I guess it's fine to think because you have gotten something, you will get all. But that really isn't a logic the rest of us should worry about.

I rarely expect highly rated oos of kids to come , don't think that's " wimpy" but more being realistic. The odds say they rarely do commit . If they do come great , but if they don't I'm not disappointed.

Richt probably changes that but that's just how I've always viewed recruiting. And history usually prices my theory.

I don't count the last 15 years as history, I count it as incompetence. Butch's recruiting history contradicts

In '99 he brought in 7 OOS guys including Ken Dorsey, Jarret Payton, and Bryant Mckinnie

In 2000 he brought in 5 OOS including DJ Williams and Willie Dixon who was also a 5* and they only brought in like 10 guys from SFL, the rest were from CFL

For some reason it only shows 5 commits for 2001 but 2 were OOS

Even the 2002 class had 7 OOS guys

This is the kind of kid that would be a good target for Miami. Speaking to folks close to that program, kid is an A++ kid. Doesn't play any games - no nonsense when it comes to football, training, etc., is a real student of the game and great teammate overall. We'll see how that translates in the heat of recruiting, but I'm digging our chances.

Aqm couldn't get into ND, Kayaa wasnt highly rated when he committed, he blew up towards the end of the year. That's when the big offers started rolling in, luckily we were the first school to pounce on him. One thing the previous staff did right. Dobard was highly rated too, but the point is they're far and few between.

The percentages are super low. So I don't set myself up for the disappointment. Keeps my jimmies from being rustled.

McFarland's either playing against cripples, or he has incredible football speed. He ghosts angles.

There was a play in his highlights where the defender had a 10 yard cushion and an angle, and McFarland just ate that **** up and walked by him.

He looks like the real deal.

Lol....after reading some of these comments, it's obvious that we need this season to start ASAP so some of ya'll mofos can be de-goldenized around here!!

We ain't playin checkas no mo', we playin' chess, and playin chess with someone who's used to playing chess w/ some of the best of them. Richt has had to go blow to blow w Saban, Jimbo, and Les for years at a different program for recruits...ain't nothing changing here, except now he's closer to the recruits he wants vs having to fly from Gawgia to get here.

Man, ya'll ninjas better get used to us being in it for every recruit we and Richt want and even flipping kids NO MATTER WHERE THEY ARE LOCATED; it won't be a surprise any more, it'll be expected.
