It is just my opinion for now but there are a few reasons I prefer Garcia. At 6'2" 210, Garcia has a much better frame to build on going forward. Garcia's SPARQ score was excellent and his 4.7 forty 4.31 shuttle and 32" vertical tells me he is a good athlete. At this point in his development, Garcia lacks explosive power but he has a very good base for Feely to work with. Garcia has a nonstop motor and is very open to coaching. The remarkable consistency in his tackling tells me that he values technique and is focused on details. Garcia also seems to have a good to very good ceiling that is achievable through hard work and a quality S&C which he would have here.Flagg > Garcia IMO. Flagg's insticts are special and will translate to the next level. Flagg has obvious physical limitations though. What makes you think Garcia is better than Flagg?
Flagg on the other hand is 5'10" with 4.9- 5.0 speed in the 40. Flagg also doesn't seem to possess the type of lateral quickness I like to see. Don't misunderstand me. I have a great deal of respect for the young man as he is a great football player with elite instincts and a desire to win. I just feel that Flagg's physical deficiencies could be greatly magnified on this level coupled with the possibility that Flagg may already be near maxed out in terms of his ceiling. With a couple of years in our S&C he may very well overcome his physical flaws and allow his special instincts to take over. Some have said that Flagg's ceiling is Mike Smith and I would be fine with that as Smith developed into a very productive and capable backup. They can't all be starters and if Flagg becomes a Mike Smith level backup while also contributing on special teams then the take would be well worth it. I just happen to like Garcia's ceiling better at this point but like I said, it's just my humble opinion.
