Andrew chatfield offered by UF

recruiting from a point of weakness? i see it as doing everything we can to get tyson campbell and solidifying Nesta. And if we have one of the best DL coaches then that furthers the point of getting drew and making him a productive player while solidifying those top targets. Im with Brock on this one

And that coach doesn't want to offer him. I'm going to go with the guy who seems to put a 1st rounder in the league every single season.

Agree man, im not saying that Kool is wrong. Just saying if we can afford to burn a scholarship i'd burn it on chatfield and not some other random filler. He may not be Kool's guy but it may help get Rumph his guy in Campbell. Maybe this is not the situation at all but it seems logical.

Campbell's own cousin has said that they don't even talk about UF. So UF offering Chatfield doesn't really mean anything. If you want to get to be a top program, you have to stop taking kids that don't belong or fit into your system. There are only so many spots left and we have to project on kids leaving early (McIntosh and Norton are likely gone if they have good seasons) and you need to get kids in now. Why waste a scholly on a kid that's not going to see playing time here when you could bring in someone else who'd provide meaningful depth?

Top programs are doing these package deals regularly man. But i see your point, hopefully we'll land them. **** the buckeyes.

OSU offered chatfield hoping to get them in the game with both campbell and Nesta. Neither player jumped on board so it seems like they stopped recruiting him and told him to find a new home. Don't see why we should throw him an offer if it didn't work for OSU

Well, we have no scholarships to waste at all even if they for sure were a package deal (which they aren't).
We got 25-27 imo to use this class. But we need every single one of them to be a top player, because next year, unless we have a lot of RS Sophomores and below leaving through attrition, we will only be able to have a class <15. We can't waste any scholarships this year. Every one we waste this year reduces the already small number for next year.

Like I said..... not offering chatfield is a mistake, because they are playing that angle right now...

So you're saying allow 17 year old kids to dictate who gets offered. Again, because you didn't understand the first 20 times it was said to you. Chatfield is not good enough to play here. Period. You don't trust Kool?

from what was previously reported, i believe theyre not a packaged deal. i trust Kool here and the relationship built.

Yawn.....

When we these kids see the light.

Florida is the best school in the country at producing NFL draft busts | For The Win

Sad thing is, this is not even considering all of the 2nd and 3rd round picks that never panned out for Florida either. They can talk all this crap about how they put this person and that person in the league as 1st rounder, LATELY, but at the end of the day, their players are making pesos while our players making euros...EVEN when they're not drafted. (see Hurns, Gunter, Shields, Waters, etc.)

I guess that is a selling point. If you are not good enough to stay in the league they can at least get you over hyped for a good first contract.

He's not a scrub. Better player by far than rosseau who has potential but is not a refined football player at the level chatfield is at right now

Chatfield looked like **** at the opening. You would get sacks too with 3 D1 DBs behind you. He is undersized and slow.

HAHA at get Chatfield to help Rumph get his guy in Campbell.
Sorry if Rumph cant close on Campbell by himself when he coached the kid and the kid said he is like a father to him then why take on someone that another coach doesn't want.
Rumph needs to take the training wheels off and if he cant recruit then he needs to stay at home.

Question for the film junkies. Who's game does Chatfield closely resemble coming out of high school. I personally trust Kool so I'm not even worried, but just curious. I know people have said he is too small for DE and too slow for LB.

It's not about a comparison. He's just not a fit in the defense IMO, He seems like a 3-4 pass rushing specialist while Rousseau is more athletic and can learn to drop back with fluidity to play that viper role.

You don't even see him playing in Trent Harris role?

I was one of the posters hoping that Chatfield would use the camp circuit to prove he deserved an offer but he flopped every chance he got. Flopped in front of Kool at the Richt camp...Flopped at the Opening..And he didnt have the guts to show up to Paradise Camp to give it one last go..I dont care what he does this year..we need to pass and move on..not like he didnt have his chance.

Even if Nesta and Tyson wanted a package deal..how could they be mad at us as we gave Chatfield every opportunity to show he deserved an offer and he failed every time. How could they hold that against us even if they wanted to?

I think its more accurate to say he doesn't fit what Kool is looking for.
