Andrew chatfield offered by UF

I posted this in another thread but my thoughts.

So Andrew chatfield just got offered by UF. We are already competing with Ohio state who has offered both silvera and chatfield and now uf. Miami needs to get that offer to chatfield because you better believe uf will play that angle to both of them... it's not like we are sitting pretty with any big time dends anyway.... Not to mention uf has the package deal angle and silvera cousin plays for them(James Houston in 2016 class)

So we should offer a kid that neither Kool or Diaz have interest in.

Then what happens if he wants to commit and we say no hold off and wait. That would cause more problems .

When are people going to learn that all Broke is good for is Googling? Give him 30 seconds and he can pull up stats and old articles, but when it comes to actual analysis of what our coaches are doing and thinking, he is a worthless ****.

Listening to Broke about who we should offer is worthless. Broke would have given out 400 offers by now and accepted 300 commits, all based on how much of a chubby he gets from watching internet highlight videos in Atlanta.

Broke is King Google, he can let you know when a "crystal ball" changes within just a few seconds, but you can't trust him one bit when it comes to analysis.

It's a far better contribution then a whole paragraph of the garbage you just wrote.

No one is saying Chatfield isn't a very good player, but we can't sign everyone regardless of who else he is tight with on our board. Coach Kul personally worked him out recently, and I don't mean a few drills, he tested every aspect of that kids game. The offer still didn't come. It is very unlikely.

Like I said..... not offering chatfield is a mistake, because they are playing that angle right now...

Makes perfect sense. We offered Russell and Cam Davis. That guaranteed us both of them right?

Lol. Come on guys, it's UF we're talking about. They got their lil glory run w Meyers, and still have produced the most bust. Just wait until the season starts; Meechigan is going to bring them right back to reality. They've been nothing more than the sacrificial lamb of Bama lately. This year, now that Muskrat's players are all gone, the guys they've been leaning on as DBU (although only Haden have been worth a **** and even he for the last 3 yrs have fallen off) are all gone, let's really see how they do. McTeef might not even be there if they collapse (which I predict they will) this season.

I mean, are you new to this? Offering a kid because he is friends with a higher rated prospect is recruiting from a point of weakness. We have one of the best DL coaches in the country and he doesn't like him. Nesta is still committed here regardless. Let them play that angle, we have seen this time and time again, and I'd rather be in our position than UFs.

People on twitter acting like they know he going to flip or something. We will see I guess. I'm one of the most positive people on this board but I'm not going to lie this sh*t concerns me.

recruiting from a point of weakness? i see it as doing everything we can to get tyson campbell and solidifying Nesta. And if we have one of the best DL coaches then that furthers the point of getting drew and making him a productive player while solidifying those top targets. Im with Brock on this one

He's not a scrub. Better player by far than rosseau who has potential but is not a refined football player at the level chatfield is at right now

I mean, you've seen this before, right? This strategy doesn't work for UM. If a kid doesn't want to be here unless his HS teammate is offered, he isn't all that interested, period. If we offer his JAG friend just because everyone else is, then the other programs will just up the $takes, which we won't do. So we're left without Mr. A and having to pull Mr. B's offer. Then all the local handler and advisers will run around talking about how UM "did him dirty."

Embarrassing what a couple of gator commits have done to you. Especially when you didn't even want the last one.

It's just logical. Those 2 are close. Sure nesta's mom didn't want him at Ohio state because of Miami advantages(playing time, close to home, we are on the rise) but uf can be a threat because it's not that far, his cousin just signed to play there last year and Schwartz probably committing there and one of his best friends might flip there in chatfield. All I'm saying if you offer chatfield who happens to love miami you can alleviate some of that pressure imo

Nope I never thought we should have recruited him heavily. Been saying from the jump he grew up loving the gators

Question for the film junkies. Who's game does Chatfield closely resemble coming out of high school. I personally trust Kool so I'm not even worried, but just curious. I know people have said he is too small for DE and too slow for LB.

More athletic Trent Harris that has a better get off which is good for us. Harris constantly stays in the backfield

Reminds me of Noah Spence from my Hometown who went to Ohio St. Now playing for Tampa. Mind you he was a 5 Star recruit coming out of high school but they are in that same mold.
But Kool is offering much more athletic guys and you can tell he likes length all these DE's or super athletic and 6'3 and up with long arms.
