Beginning???
Where ya'll been?
Where ya'll been?
This is pretty much the entire argument against this. How can anyone say with absolute certainty that 3 or 4 BIG or SEC teams will even be worthy of getting in every year?SEC? sure
BIG? not this year, dont see it
That used to be called a bowl game.I think both of those things will happen. But essentially, in the next decade, the SEC (whatever it looks like) and the Big 10 will have their own league and will play against each other for a championship. Whatever schools are left behind will be in a totally different league and will have zero involvement with the other P2 schools.
I'm getting a strange feeling as I sit here reading this after spending an hour browsing through these threads. I thought I was enjoying my team's good fortunes, only to realize I'm being Matrixed. This hasn’t mattered since the BCS started.
The NFL is not produced for the fans.
College football is not produced for the fans.
No major sport is produced for the fans who support it.
Your passion is a bank account they want to drain.
Think of yourself as an investment strategy: you are financially and emotionally married to a product, no matter how bad it makes you feel.
Nothing else in life would you give this much time, focus, or money to. Especially as often as it disappoints you.
The names and logos aside, this is not the sport we fell in love with.
This is a business.

Careful now. B10 and SEC are pushing themselves dangerously close to an Anti-Trust lawsuit. Making moves that diminish the value of non-member leagues and institutions while simultaneously forcing institutions to make major concessions to obtain membership (i.e., taking less than full revenue shares) is ripe for Anti-Trust litigation.
