I haven't followed recruiting for a while now due to Golden fatigue but how are we constantly not even in play for their players? Does Rumph have issues with the University or was it with Golden?

Not sure if Rumph had any issues or not, but I wouldn't really fault anyone for pushing their players away from Miami over the last few years.

Now that we have a legitimate coach and staff we will hopefully see things change.

That's No Frio's area to recruit....soooooo
Add to it...there are a bunch of former nfl players sons who have a hard on for sec schools or whoevers winning...since most of the kids that play their are transferred kids who are bandwagons in high school.

Brian Burns is legit....do want. Lol crazy motor and size.

Tederrwl Slaton. An ok that is a Jr. is Huge we should be all over him he's nasty as well.

They have some young dbs as well....Tyson Campbell a 6'2-6'3 corner and Chad Wilson son another corner who is like 5'10 -170-175.

But we might be players there with Richt now the head man. But the school/program are a front running atmosphere.....we were losing

One of the most overblown narratives were that certain coaches hated Miami. Golden missed on two kids from heritage - sony & Torrance Gibson. Mike rumph can't force golden to offer Mckenzie, T-mac (we offered as a gesture but did not want him), dowels, Marshall Morgan, Michael deeb, Edgar, etc.

Sony decided to go to UGA because bmac recruited him for three/four years while his main recruiter for Miami, Terry Richardson, left right before his decision. Moreover, Marshall Morgan had shown him around a bunch of times and he really liked Athens. He gave Miami another look during the wake Forrest game and nothing came out of it.

Bmac and Richt have built really strong relationships with rumph and the other coaches at American heritage so there should be no doubt that we will lock that school up in the upcoming years.

Dont forget about Patrick Surtain Jr. He might be the best of the bunch. They have other prospects as well, George Ellis DT, Kyshaun Bryan RB.

I like Campbell more than Surtain.

They also have Andrew Chatfield a big kid they have playing de at about 6'3 225. He should be an olb though.

Geore Ellis is another big kid..... Bryan is electric.

They have alot of young talent.....Slaton is a man child though, and Campbell is freaky fluid. UM can rack up if their on point imo.

The ones we lost...Sony and Gibson were American Heritage kids...kind of kids that have been their for awhile...alot of these upcoming kids are transfers from inner city schools so you see a diff outlook from their parents on recruiting, etc.

Awesome insight thanks

Slaton is supposed to be the "next big thing" (no pun intended) down here as far as Olineman right? Talking Vernon Carey/Max Jean Giles type national recruit right?

Or is that the Herbert kid that I am thinking of? I know one of them is considered elite of the elite. 5* type..

I've always thought this was an interesting deal. These kids move all over the place like mercs in high school, why in the world would they show any loyalty to the local college if they are't loyal to their own neighborhood/friends?!

Slaton is the #2 OG in the country for 2017...( a guy from St. John Bosco in the LA area is #1 )....

Ok. So he is "Big Papi".. good to know. We cannot let him out of Dade. We have been kicking ourselves ever since we swung and missed on Denver Kirkland. We need an elite OL recruiting class starting with Donaldson, Slaton and Herbert.

I'm still upset that we lost Max Jean-Gilles to Georgia - and that was about 15 years ago....

It's going to be a lot more difficult for schools to come in and steal the ones we want with Richt at the helm - that part is already apparent...

Slaton is about 6'5-6'6 320 pds.
And walks around with no shirt lol.

He's a beast...a definite take as an og or ot. They also have a sophomore who is nasty as **** at guard...transferred from cypress bay this year.

Slaton is Carey, Linder, Jean Giles territory.

At Db: like I said they talked bout the others but to me Tyson Campbell is the best....everyone offered him after mid season highlights went out.

Heritage was never a factor down here in football. They had the same ad/football coach for years. He wasn't keen on transfers etc...the minute he left it got serious and they beak came a good program.
Reason being they are one of the best of not the best academic program in the county. And exposure, they have a bunch of former nfl players as coaches, and they are kind of ran like your Texas schools with s&c etc.
it's a private school swag so they pretty much can do what they want.

But that same loaded heritage team lost to a "neighborhood" school in Hallandale two weeks back in an upset. I mean Hallandale has transfers as well but it's a predominantly neighborhood school, that got a few kids from the Miramar fall out.
The minute you win one year down here and send kids div 1, you will have parents lined up at your school if your private for their kid. Heritage got the ball rolling about 4 years back and they have took off ever since. They were going for 3 peat this year for states before the loss.
A good number of their best kids though are original heritage kids...like Sony Michel was their since 8th grade
