I may be wrong, but I don’t think Lou can punch like this kid. He’s a take IMO. As for Lou…. He can ask uncle Mario to take care of that tuition.

Safe to say Denis failed his audition at C last year? Or do we just need more depth?

Didn’t we get Borregales from the portal a year after he was on the FIU team that beat us.

I liked him when he played for us.

I'm joking around a little bit, but with Borregales, he was a local kid over at FIU and that was a bit before the "modern" Portal. He was right down the road and we were just about to recruit his younger brother. That whole thing made too much sense to NOT do it. And let's not forget that Jose transferred to Miami in January.

But going out into the Portal this late in the game for a KICKER? Seems...weird...again, it's May, not January. And that guy listed K as their #2 priority, which is really saying something.

Also, it doesn't take a lot of effort to research this or point this out, but there's a pretty sizable difference between kickers who entered the Portal in the first window vs. the current window. All the kickers who entered the Portal prior to National Signing Day are already enrolled (or committed) to new schools, with one exception (Brett Money from New Mexico State, who should be a take on name alone). In contrast, only one kicker who has entered the Portal in the most recent period has found a new home (James Turner from Louisville to Michigan) and it only took him a couple of days, so there was likely a back-channel connection.

Good luck, Maryland. Not many kickers left in the Portal at this point.

Lots of kickers/punters play as freshmen, they don't have to add a lot of weight, so why wouldn't you just find some great kid who was maybe going to be a PWO somewhere else? Who knows, maybe the Terps will prove me wrong and sign some future All-American kicker out of the Portal. Stranger things have happened.

We tried to get Parker Lewis as a kicker from the portal last year. We did get a punter (Will Hutchinson). This year we took a long snapper (Michael Donovan) out of the portal.
