Allan Haye SR highlights

I like this one.
Good lateral movement, his hand technique is above average (just missing out on locking out often, but with time) and he often just makes a mess of things in the run game (biggest plus of it all).
He's gonna do well in the NT role here.
To be honest, this guy would absolutely KILL as an OG, but NT he'll do well.
I love Haye's game. He does the dirty work. I see what you mean about his ability to play guard. I felt the same way about Willie Moise who is a very good DT but will be an NFL guard IMO.

Brought him ont he board last year. Coached against him last year..2nd game of the season he had no buzz/hype then.

Kid wrecked 2 series in a row by himself with back to back tackles for loss and sacks. I was high since then considering i was coaching the kids he was directly going against and they were solid olineman.

Loved his commitment...with s&c he will be a good 1tech here with pass rush abilities.

Plays too high but that's to be expected especially considering he hasn't played football for long. Definitely has potential. I usually prefer a 1 gap attack defensive line but after this year especially after the north Carolina game I'd like to see some 2 gap technique. He seems to be a good 2 gap dt

Kid has a really high motor for a HS DT. That's one thing I loved about Nesta, too, and Haye is in that mold where he brings it on every play. He's going to need to improve is upper body strength before he can see a lot of action. But that lower body, wow, kid has tree trunks for legs.

I especially like that Haye knows how to man his gaps. In that defense, he is being asked to engage the OL and then shed him in either direction, so Haye essentially occupies two gaps at the same time. Very hard to do, especially when he was double teamed on several of those highlight snaps, yet he was excellent at it. Our LBs are always getting washed out by OL getting to them. Haye would free them up and make the overall defense much better. ... Now, he may be asked to just shoot gaps like our guys are often asked to do. But the fact he can hold a gap is super important if/when we finally get a real DC in here.
Yeah he does play the 2 gap well. After the unc game it'd be nice to see more of that. When we play one gap against good teams we get gashed bad

I’m not seeing it just yet. He gets lifted quite a bit in his own highlight. He needs to gain a ton of strength especially in the upper body. I think he’ll be a good developmental guy

Glad he wouldnt have to be forced into actuion early with the recruits we have gotten. Let him shirt and develop. I dont think Ford is comming back though he shouldve

Love his production as a pass rusher. Basketball player in a nose tackle's body:

Cosign. If his work ethic is right and he cleans up his technique by keeping his pad level lower this kid could be a future superstar.

Hayes will have time to develop with the kids we’ve signed at DT the past few years. That should give him time to add strength and add to his technique

Some of the comments in this thread and in the Haye commitment thread are interesting reads after reading the Haye in the Portal thread.

Kid went from all-ACC consideration once he committed to once he stepped on Greentree to never heard from again until he portaled out.
CIS talent evaluators never miss. Again, there's a reason why we are all on a message board.
