All in on Mario is the "Miami" thing to do and therefore completely wrong

Please hire Deon Sanders. Take a chance, take a shot on a proven winner, winner, chicken dinner. The guy has more swag than Mr. Swag himself and gets the whole recruit till you die rule. If you cant afford to hire Nick Saban, then hire a guy who has always been.....a winner. Just a thought.
0-4 against UM....Irvin abused him in College and the NFL.....

Lol man I was tryna explain this to my boy last night..ppl just look at his W/L record..the coastal better than the division he’s in. He’s not out coaching up in Eugene. The talent he has is so overwhelming even if he’s archaic and stubborn running that 2 TE smash mouth style, he’s gunna win. And just like last night vs Wash st, Oregon was in a dogfight but their depth just overwhelmed WSU..could he duplicate that here? I’m not sure he’d come in and just go head to head with the SEC and OSU to get the kids needed..Miami would have to $hange … Miami fans be patient losing to Duke etc while winning 8/9 annually in the hopes he can land the guys to dominate, I doubt that. Talent for talent Oregon is ahead of Miami by a good margin Imo. Especially in the trenches
That is Washington State with an interim head coach too.

Dabo is on a different tier because of where his program is at excluding this season

Dave Doeren
Dave Clawson
Jeff Hafley
Pat Narduzzi
Bronco Mendenhall

Is Cristobal a better coach week to week than any of the above? Program fit is important. I believe that. I don't think Dave Clawson could do at Miami what he does at Wake. He might not even want to recruit like he would have to at Miami. But I'd take his Wake coached teams over a Mario coached team if the talent was not overwhelming in Mario's favor.

We don't think much of the ACC because of the type of kids we think we can recruit. But hiring a coach who is at best the 7th best coach when he walks into the conference is not my idea of a can't miss don't talk to anyone else first choice.

You don’t have to be a Calculus teacher to figure it out.

Look at the 5 games we lost so far this year, aside from Alabama. What caused us to lose?

Bad fundamentals.

If we tackle better, block better, and don’t blow assignments….we’re 9-1 right now and talking about the playoffs.

Winning at Miami should be easy. Don’t overthink it. Just get a coach who coaches up the fundamentals well and who can recruit, and we’re rolling

So the local coaches will continue to sell their players to the SEC no matter how much they claim to love Mario
Mario has to lay the bama game, if he doesnt he will be cooked. They have to break bank UM so he can do what he does......we can easily out recruit bama and those boys if we lay the game.

That’s the issue. We don’t want Lane because we’ll get the ncaa up our butts, but the way for Mario to be Mario is to play the game that gets the ncaa up our butts?

Lane isn't even considered an elite recruiter though so I dont get why people would be up our ***.

Mario gets who he wants from California because USC and UCLA are as dead as us. I could recruit if I coached at Alabama. I'm not totally convinced he's a homerun hire.

He's way better than Manure, but who isn't? I think we can do better.

Mario has to interview UM not the other way around. I think Lane is the Miami thing to do.....I kind of like Herman and Freeze out of all. I hope people right about Lane cause I don't see how he does the things here like he's doing at Ole Miss. I just expect Saban to fail here at this point.
Wait, so you think Hugh Freeze or Tom Herman are better hires than Saban?

Miami can't afford Mario 9 million to buy him out plus another 6-9 million a year contract not to mention Manny buyout

LOL @ equating anything he did at Bama to here. Jeff Stoutland was a better recruiter at Bama. Bama essentially recruits itself. Mike Rumph would land 5 5 star corners yearly at Bama.

Mario is a good recruiter though i admit...but thats because he puts in work there. But what he did at Bama wont be replicated here...and the easy sh*t he is doing at Oregon currently wont be done here
You don’t think Mario can take MD’s top 12 classes and make them top 6-10 like Oregon? Manny is a meh recruiter and did was recruiting at a decent level. Oregon wasn’t recruiting at this level before he showed up.

No Mario knows the []_[] he truly knows what it means to be a TRUE CANE he has the SWAG in his blood and he is a blue collar lunch pail guy with a hard hat plus he is Cuban and his wife misses her family what don't you get this is destiny
What about the atrocious defense that Mario annually puts on the field at Oregon??? Isn’t a bad defense part of bad coaching 🤔

Feel like we’re going to ***** ourselves over here. I don’t think Mario will come, so if he says no, we are 100% fvcked. We’re going to wait too long and not have a contingency plan. This is bleak.

We did that with Richt. We spent more money and hired a program building experienced coach with a tremendous pedigree. And we ran into problems. We hired the big name that was immediately available to us but no one took the time to fully vet the decision and consider all potential problems. Like nepotism. I'm not saying the sitations are exactly the same and Richt was at the tail end of his career and Mario is in his prime. The point is that the when you are hiring and especially when you are hiring for a very high level position, there is a right way and wrong way to conduct a search. The professional, pragmatic, and intelligent way to do it is as I outlined in my original post. That's what gives you the best odds of success. The Miami way is to not do that.
The main guy who made the decision to hire Richt is going to be out. I think you need to recalibrate your thought process. If the new guy is competent I think it changes a lot of your calculation.

We don't know if going all in on Mario is the right way to go but nothing you have said precludes this.
