Alabama RB Derrick Henry NCAA Violation?? (New Topic)

His parents might have jobs and gave him a car for graduation....

lets worry about our ****....

rep the kid nice ride

We have no idea what the families financial situation is. The kid is on a totally free ride. Parents of those types of kids generally find ways to reward their children. Now at Bama they make it easy to do that, because the dealership has friends and family specials.

Bama is probably breaking him off, but don't just assume because a player drives a nice car he's getting paid.

A lot of times they get these cars 'discounted' by dealerships. Especially if they're a star who many expect to be playing in the NFL soon. And by discounted I mean they may look past their ****** credit or allow them to buy the car with barely if anything down, etc. You or I couldn't get the same deal but a lot of these guys do. That said, it's Bama, they likely bought it for him.

I know Trent Richardson and his mom from when he was in high school.. You wouldn't believe the conditions they lived in. All of that magically disappeared when he signed with BAMA.

Plenty of Bama players have new rides. This isn't anything new. Henry having a new ride is not going to all of a sudden spark a NCAA investigation. Now before I say anything else, let me say that Bama most definitely cheats, but guys, we're talking about a Dodge. Some of you are acting like it's a bentley. You can lease one of those things for less than $300 a month. Does that mean that Bama isn't paying for it? Nope, but this isn't that big of a deal to me.

Violation? Yep. Happen all the time? Yep.

How much are these athletes worth to the SEC? NCAA? ESPN? CBS? ABC? Merchandisers? And countless other sports related business interests?

Yeah, I think we all need to stfu.

The problem is not the car itself, it is at least the perception that the SEC schools never get taken to task when it appears they are the biggest offenders -- Cam Newton, Manziel, Shapiro's comments about the SEC -- the NCAA believed everything he said and were searching inside the DNA of whores and at least one fetus for receipts, but not one apparent follow up to the SEC commentary.

I have said this a thousand times. Stop Stereotyping. Just because he is black an plays football does not mean he comes from a low class family or lives in the hood. Most athletes come from very good homes where their parents make really good money.

It is a fact among coaches in the SEC and those that recruit against them that they pay to recruit players.Emmertt ,who was an AD at LSU which is the school considered the biggest cheater by SEC coaches knows about the different pay offs to high school recruits and their agents. It is so prevalent that the boosters compete with each other on who gives the money.I have heard of an incident at an SEC school where the biggest booster of the school was livid that the recruiting coordinator did not use him as the money provider but another booster for a big name recruit. It is a reality and it is getting worse. The NCAA will do nothing for fear that the SEC will split away and it's money will split away from the NCAA.

I believe Lebron was able to get the hummer based off of a loan his mom received. Everyone knew the man was about to get a serious pay day in the summer of 2003.

Exactly, agents could have bought him a house and it didn't matter. He wasn't in college nor was he going to college.

We have guys driving cars they wouldn't be able to get if they weren't UM football players, or at least they did when I was there.

LeBron was driving a mother ****ing Hummer in HIGH SCHOOL. Nothing to see here.

Actually LeBron got that Hummer right after high school, that's when he declared for draft soon after cause of violations...we all knew he wasn't going to college

He actually got the Hummer during his senior year and before basketball season.

Doesn't matter, he never went to college. NCAA rules don't apply.

The issue with Lebron was whether he would be eligible his senior season of high school, do it did matter.
