Al-Quadin Muhammad cancelled his ND visit

I'm calling bull**** on the academics. If Miami can get him ND can too.

I guess its fun for us to pretend, but this just isn't the truth at all.

We are talking about admissions for a football player. If a football player's grades are bad enough to not get into ND then he isn't getting into Miami either.

If his grades aren't good enough to get into Miami I doubt we would have paid for him to come on an official visit.

the academics angle being the reason for AQM not going to ND is just an excuse to use in case he doesnt pick them. Dude has never even visited the place officially or unofficially and has never publicly stated that ND was his favorite. For some reason, ND fans felt like it was a foregone conclusion that he was coming when it doesnt really look like there are any reasons to believe that other than the fact that they have 2 former teammates of his on the roster

Lamar Miller wouldn't have gotten into ND. You can keep thinking this if you want. ND's academic requirements are tougher than 99% of the rest of the country's. Ours are tough no doubt, but not the same as ND's. I'm not necessarily trying to apply it to this kid's situation...who knows the complete truth, but you are regurgitating things that you've read on the boards that just aren't 100% accurate.

Do we really know how tough ND is compared to UM admissions for athletes? There are very few schools that don't follow the NCAA's requirements. UM, Stanford, ND, and a few others appear to be the very small minority that don't follow those standards. I doubt that any one school's stringent requirements are drastically different than the other.

I think this is the correct answer. plus the kid goes to a catholic school already, which makes the Lamers think that he is more likely to go to ND. on top of that it makes the academic excuse even less likely since kids at catholic schools are generally getting more attention academically

I don't give a **** if AQM could or couldn't get into Notre Dame, I'll be glad to have him at Miami. For that matter, I wish we could have AJL, Grooms, and Leggett as well.
