Al Golden's Pattern of Under Achievement

I bet if Miami wins on Friday 52-3 you would still find a way to **** about them giving up 3 points....

So tell me great zone!!! If you were coach what would you do??? how would you run this team??? hows come your not coaching anywhere if you seem to know it all and have it all figured out??

If I was the coach at Miami, this team wouldnt lose to Duke or VT and definitely not get blown out by them...... that just shows how incompetent and pathetic of a Head Coach Al Golden is. smh terrible

and if u think that Fridays game is going to be 52-3 then you really are guzzling down too much of that Golden juice.

You clearly missed the point he was making.

**** Whitlock that fat racist hack.....he is the sports version of Jessie and Al Sharpton....

I suggest you find another team for a few years....

May God help this team if Golden is the HC for another "few years"

/ i seriously doubt it

This thread is pathetic.

I know, but If I made a thread about Golden is God then you ilovelamp and all of the other Golden/Doritos *** guzzlers would be jumping for joy. smh

God forbid someone actually uses PERSPECTIVE and logic instead of just using insults or ranting like an idiot.

Please go back and review Zone's post the last 3 weeks. Then come back and tell us if you think this is "Logic".

I meant to say that Zone is the one spewing out insults and not using logic at all.

I don't know where this nonsense comes from, that "everyone agreed" it was inexcusable to lose within the Coastal. Our preseason rating was #27. That doesn't birthright anything other than vulnerability. If our power rating were 20 points higher, then it's legit to complain about inexplicable losses. Otherwise it's like a horse with blinkers on, seeing only what someone wants you to see.

We were 6 point favorites over Georgia Tech, -9.5 at North Carolina, -5.5 at close against Virginia Tech, -3 at Duke, and -2.5 this week against Pittsburgh. That doesn't equate to running the table in those games. It's a common misconception, we're favored therefore we win. Meanwhile, if a team is exactly a 6 point favorite in every game all season, the season win over/under among 12 games would be 8.5, not 12.

Every season I have no idea how we dismiss teams in our conference that are rated very similarly to where we are. There's no reason to believe that won't continue, that's we'll pretend we still have a Sagarin power rating in the mid to high 90s, like the old days, instead of the pedestrian 76 range of today, placing 42nd in the country, last I checked.

As I've posted previously, if we're ranked 7th in August I'll pay attention. In that case I'll know darn well what it equates to, that our favoritism in those games will be double digits and a power rating in the low 90s.

Couldn't agree any more.

negged....same topic another angle. you have started 1,000,000 threads about this.

Whitlock declared Golden's teams loaded by Mac Standards?

A quick look at the Preseason Mac Polls shows other wise
2006 golden's first year
2007 picked to finish 6th in their division http://www.collegefootballpoll.com/season_preview_2007_mac_media.html
2008 picked to finish 5th in their division http://www.collegefootballpoll.com/season_preview_2008_mac_media.html
2009 picked to finish 2nd in their division http://www.collegefootballpoll.com/season_preview_2009_mac_media.html (finished 2nd in their division, projected first 1st place finisher Buffalo finished 3-5, Ohio University finished 7-1 in conference, co-division champs)
2010 picked to win the division and win the conference. finished 3rd in their division. http://www.collegefootballpoll.com/season_preview_2010_mac_media.html

So 1 time in 4 years Golden was considered to have the best team and didn't deliver. To pretend that his Temple teams were always loaded and always the favorite is complete Joke. To pretend that his Temple teams had sooo much MAC talent they would just steam roll the conference is another Joke.

I understand you have an agenda against the coaching staff. But the **** your posting isn't even creative or informative. It's like you are trying to convince everyone else to share is your disdain for the staff and your longing for the immediate firing of the entire staff. Your flooding the boards everyday with the same non-sense. No one is happy about how the year unfolded after we started 7-0. You don't need to post "new" angles everyday. Seriously get a life.

This......... ppl are still in the 80s,90 and 00's thinking that just because a guy wears the U that he is an amazing athlete and football player. I cringe every time the announcers say "miami speed". When we only have 1 guy on D getting reps right now that truly has what would be considered "Miami Speed" at his position and that's Artie Burns. You don't have "miami speed" when TEs are out running your Safeties and LB.

Everyone wants us to be "BACK" but some refuse to believe how bad the upper class talent is on this team truly is.

I don't always see eye to eye w Zone ... Actually, rarely ... Either but

It was kind of obvious from the title what was coming

You chosed to open the thread so quit yer beechin

Look, Golden has his faults and he may ultimately fail here. It's still too early to draw definitive conclusions. But anyone who attempts to discredit what he accomplished at Temple is simply ignorant. If you know anything about the history of Temple football and the circumstances that surround that program, you understand that what Golden accomplished there is nothing short of miraculous.

the 60th ranked recruiting class probably isn't that much more "talented" than the 70th.. if we're being realistic..

Considering the fact that Temple is now a 1 win team three years removed from Al's stint as head coach, He and that coach who should not be named had to be at least not totally inept to turn that program into something of substance.

which is why i'm willing to give him and D'Onof the benefit of the doubt.
