AJL visiting Marshall this weekend

Its hard to imagine how this happens but honestly he probably would have flaked out here too then if he can't make it this far.

Too bad but we get Coley and none of it matters.

Whiff on Coley and either D'mauri Jones or Jontavious Carter better pan out. I will be praying Lewis can come back with the same athleticism he had prior to his injury.

How is Marshall the only school that's able to do this and why aren't SEC schools adopting the same program.

It has to be something with West Virginia laws, WVU has been doing the same for years

The one thing we all seem to forget is the APR requirements of schools.
Marshall is a D1 school so they have the same minimum requirements the NCAA imposes on all FBS schools.
All the big conferences really care about APR for obvious reasons. Schools with qualifying APR's get more money from the NCAA and their respective conference's bowl/tv money pool.
If your school is a repeat APR failure the school will be penalized pretty harshly with scholarship reductions, bowl bans and a quasi 1 year death penalty where the school is ineligible to compete on the D1 level.

And with the new NCAA academic requirements taking affect recruits have to work as hard in the classroom as they do in the weight room.
I read somewhere that under the new rules something like 40% of all scholarship football players from a couple years ago wouldn't qualify and
would have to be academically redshirted which is a new thing as well.

Seems like all the big conferences are extremely aware of APR and the new upcoming academic landscape of athletics and don't want to take a chance admitting a student/athlete or a group of them who could conceivably contribute at worst to a D1 athletic ban of a year.

Just something to think about.

All in for Coley. Thankfully this is one of the few positions we can afford to whiff on. Lockhart, Waters, and Lewis are REAL good.
