Ahmmon Richards commits (2016)

The first thing that jumps out at you is his fluidity. He looks simply graceful on a football field, which is not a word I commonly use after watching someone's film. The kid is a sophomore in these highlights and while he doesn't have top end speed, what he does have is suddenness. He beats a jam so quickly in one of those 1 v 1's that the kid hasn't even completed his punch before he's trying to find him. Aggressive with the ball in his hands and didn't seem phased by physical play. More than once he was horse collared but held onto the ball and simply got up.

For me, he is a much better right now WR. He'll need to learn to fill downhill with form and discipline. He'll need to be taught how to make a football tackle almost from scratch (remembering he is a HS soph. in these clips). His athleticism, fluidity and ability to attack the ball and then flip defense to offense make his ceiling higher at FS. For me, the obvious comp is SBB. I think SBB is more physical and aggressive at present moment, but he's also further along in his development. Versatile athletes like this kid make me smile. He will play specials as a freshman, learn his technique and be ready to go his soph. year at the latest.

Marqise Lee was a stud WR, got picked quite highly and probably enjoyed his college career, but if he'd stayed at FS, he would've gone higher in the draft with no doubt in my mind. He'd have gone higher than Jimmie Ward did as a S.

I'd say this kid is a legitimate 4-star kid who could go anywhere he wants to do. Premium level talent and his versatility earns him a touch higher priority for me as a recruit.

Welcome to the U.

Nice scouting report. His fluidity jumped out at me from the get go. He makes it look effortless. Very natural and instinctive. Reminds me of Stacy Coley without the elite top end speed. Only going to be a junior in HS this year so he can get faster. A truly versatile athlete with great length and elite short area explosiveness. Routinely beats the jam and creates separation with ease. Seems to have soft hands and great awareness. FS or WR. Just bring him in and sort it out later. Love the commit. This is the type of athlete we should always have at Miami. We can never have enough.

These kids are locking up 2016 because they know new coaches will be here

Much as we might want that to be true, it doesn't work that way. These kids see something we don't and expect staff to be here. Only diehard fans like Duke, commit regardless of uncertainty. I'll say this, IF only this staff could coach as well as it is recruiting 2016, we are in playoff this year and win it next year. That is unfortunately one big, big if. Let's hope all these 2016 studs are correct. If we win some of the big games this year and stop getting used, maybe this momentum spills back over the 2015 class.

You are losing credibility with complaints about 2016. There is soooooooooooo much to legitimately complaint about that to do so about what is clearly shaping up into perhaps our greatest recruiting class in 15 years is giving you that ex-wife sound. Coaching is sad, 2015 has serious issues, we missed some studs in 2013, all are legit, but crying about a Bama level 2016 -- so far- class is sad and below your norm.

Credibility, seriously? Simple solution, stop reading my posts. If you want to continue...Some of us are capable of discussing other topics, so we will do just that.

Side note: We're all excited about the 2016 class because that is what we expect from recruiting. It is nice to hit those expectations.

Wow, didn't know you had such sensitive skin. Since we all expect to win NCs, I assume you will be complaining and *****ing about the WAY we win the next one. I'll try to remember that so I don't irritate you at that time.

TANGENT. Now that we got that out of the way. Not sensitive at all, just giving you a simple solution. I believe you are the one cursing above.

I suggest you stop reading tone into any post since you're pretty crappy at doing that.

Richards already has two touchdowns tonight against Olympic Heights.

@REALCOACHK: #Canes commit @WHS_athletics1 2016 WR Ahmmon Richards (@AhmmonR2) throws up #TheU after scoring his first TD.

@REALCOACHK: Another long touchdown for @WHS_athletics1. Shannon Patrick (@Shannon7Patrick) connects with Ahmmon Richards (@AhmmonR2) for an 88 yard TD.

Did he get flagged for it?

Richards could be a stud at receiver or safety, got a great athlete on our hands. Can't wait for him to get here.

This dude is an awesome reciever. He needs to be a receiver.

I have him and Mullins for 2016 penned down as athletes playing either receiver or safety.

That's the thing here, always seen that this kid is one **** of a receiver and he's very smooth and has great speed at his size and can leap with the best.

Just get him on the field cause I feel he could be a star on either side of the ball. I'm leaning towards receiver, kid would be a nightmare to cover. The Coley comparison is not off at all. A taller, stronger, a tad slower, but as smooth as Stacy Coley is what I see in Ahmmon.

Ahmmon standing at 6'3" about 175-180. Great speed at his size, can leap, very smooth on the field. Just a playmaker no matter where he is on the field. Type of athlete we also used to get around the program.

You can't go wrong at either side of the ball you put him at. But this is a kid I would love to have his skillset on offense.

He looks too stiff to be a WR. He looks like a safety.

I doubt he would start over Sam Bruce, Dionte Mullins, Snealson, Berrios, Tyre Brady, Darrell Langham, D'Mauri Jones, Terrell chatman, and if they commit, (Calvin Ridley & Devante Peete, Newblood, & Freddie Pinder). That's a lot of competition.

Ehhh. Idk about all that, I think he definitely would be able to compete. Smooth athlete. He's one **** of a receiver.

I don't expect Jones to be here for long. The youngins passing him up.

Their will be a lot of competition in the future, but Maurice your crazy if you think Ahmmon can't be a receiver.

I think for 2015, we add on Peete and hopefully Calvin.

Then 2016 I expect us to add Newbold and Pinder to the current haul. (Irvin a TE)

Can't agree with you on Ahmmon, Maurice.

I see a potential future star at receiver or safety.
