Is any reporter going to ask Richt what he plans on doing about special teams? It’s a complete joke at this point.

Unfortunately we have the worst team reporters in America so no they won’t ask this important question. They will as the same dumba** questions they ask week in and week out.

Solid summary.

Hard to give the defense an A considering the first half...solid B-B+ for the entire game. Coaching grade might be a bit generous as well....but agree with most of it.

We aren't going to beat anyone of importance until we fixed our special teams. Point. Blank. Period.

We're playing college football and our opponents are playing arena football. Most of our opponents points come from short fields.

I hate when our defense is complete dog shet we have excellent NFL punters but when we can stop offenses we have punters who kick no better then high schoolers.

I know no coach wants to waste scholly on punters but this is getting into emergency territory.

Chise, I stated last week that Brian Burns was the one guy we had to game plan for and it was maddening to see that many times we left him on an island(where he really hurt us) and bottom line is that FSU overall, has recruited well at that particular position

What I still don't get is why it took so long for Richt to have the TE and FB help out with Burns? I know you don't want to signal pass by player alignments. But ****, it was obvious to anyone with a pea brain that St Louis and Donaldson could not stop Burns in a pass rush.

This goes to my belief that the offensive struggles aren't just about play-calling( to me, thats too simplistic, even if true) but I do think what Richt runs is flawed conceptually and in design/plan

Does anyone else notice when Perry is getting into the zone he will always put his left hand out like he is directing traffic as he receives the playcall from the sideline?

I know it is a relatively small sample size with only 2 starts and most of the FIU game but when he looked a little shell shocked against FSU he would just stand there and get the play, as he got into his game, every.single.time. he would be motioning his left hand extended. At first I thought it might be a signal or him telling the oline to hurry up or re-position a player, but there is just no way after how often he does this.

Basically what I am saying is watch out for the left handed motion in future games because when I see that now I think oh **** its about to go down.

He's just signaling that there won't be a huddle and for everyone to get lined up and he'll call the play at the line.

K9, I'm with you. The unit as a whole isn't meshing. Definitely not scheme alone.

But we have more than enough talent on the line and everywhere else to generate more yards and 3rd down conversions. Weaker teams have done so against FSU. There are lots of head scratchers. Why so little motion, why run Homer out of the 11 formation so often (no momentum), why so many helmet-to-helmet blocks and not more cross-blocking or even cut blocking? Why so few designed cutback runs? On and on.

I like Richt's passing playbook. But protection breaks down too often. And the run playbook and blocking assignments don't exploit our strengths.

The game really shows the value of field position. I don't know what the stats are for scoring based on starting field position, but I imagine they are significantly higher when you basically start your drive at mid field. The same thing happened in the LSU game. We started at the 20, while they started at the 42 yard line or better.

Wiggins looked good... When I first saw him I thought he had no chance of seeing the field this year but after seeing him on the field it's gonna be hard going forward keeping him off.... Coaches had a lot of confidence in his ability giving him the looks he got against FSU and he rewarded it... Being able to draw those penalties was huge.... Big things coming from him in the future...
