I guess Leon Williams didnt have that dog in him.

Where Canarsie HS is, its still the hood like its always been. I know there because my aunt still lives on Ralph right across from Tilden HS.

Leon Williams is **** near 40. Like I said. Canarsie used to go hard, but not anymore. I was in East New york the other day and scooped up my boy from bayview on the way there. Canarsie is nice af now.

Is thug code word for “black”? Is mostly people from West Indies and Caribbean. A lot of hard workers.

That is what I am trying to say. Canarsie had a lot of bloods back in the 90s and 00s, but now its just a bunch of hard working black people. Guys like @jjpuppet get scared walking around areas like that though.

Having worked with students on the spectrum for roughly a decade, I have witnessed far more parents with children on the spectrum moving into NY than out of NY. Parents move here for the services they receive. This may very well be the case in Florida, but I doubt it.

I truly doubt an NYC teacher is going to move to Florida or Texas without other factors incentivizing the process. Our pension is solid. We make over six figures, pay next to nothing for medical, and have the strongest union in the country. I don't see many teachers taking Lord only knows what type of a pay cut to move to the South especially if they have kids in school.

And let me add a very important factor: they depend on the neighbors - the community - to help with his siblings. They have roots in that community that will be difficult to leave. I really like this kid as a prospect but this is a very complicated situation.

How far are pedo state and Syracuse from where he lives? How easy is it to get there from where he’s at? Can they hop on a train or do they have to fly?

I’m just curious because I don’t know nothing about the area and I’ve watched Good Fellas before, multiple times. I assume they both have to be easier to get to than Miami and definitely College station.

Both are approx. 250 miles from NYC
Penn State is roughly 4 1/2 hour car drive. Forget flying. Can do a bus.

Syracuse is approx. 5 hours (maybe a little less) from NYC. Again, usually people drive. Probably can take Amtrak. There is a decent airport but no idea if you can/would fly from NYC.

Thanks for clearing that up. Looking at those drive times and how easy it is to fly from NYC to Miami or Ft. Lauderdale, it may be easier for him to come here than those other 2 schools that are geographically closer.

Syracuse's airport is definitely NOT decent... ESPECIALLY in the winter.

I used to know the actor from Goodfellows who ran a bar or restaurant in the movie. I think he had a bandage on his head. Real name is Tony Darrow. All thug in real life. Ended up in prison for torturing a debtor. He was from East New York. He was scary in real life. Just sitting in a room with him he was scary.

Steve McGuire grew up on Van Siclen Ave. in ENY.

Don't know the ENY connection to Canarsie although I lived in Brooklyn for a while.
