Yes, the same way the ultimatum got dropped with Franklin, but Franklin was open about it.

If a kid wants to be at miami, he's not going to care about Alabamas ultimatum. If our coaches offer a better package and opportunity, a kid won't care about his spot at Alabama.

If this cat shuts it down because saban said be loyal or lose your spot, he valued his spot at Alabama more than potential conversation with Miami.

I’m not disagreeing with you. I also get where Z is coming from. Most of your guys’ points actually don’t conflict.

I think we should just move on to something more productive.
 
I understand that we as a fanbase are excited that we landed a 5 star recruit, and have one potentially committing in a few weeks. I understand it’s been so long since top recruits in SFL started taking us & our staff serious. But cmon y’all we can’t resort to this every f—king thread. We sound like those annoying and spoiled *** UGA & Clemson fans that expect to get everybody except they have the W-L to column to back up their ****iness. We all just need to chill and lock up a few threads. We treat rumors (especially outside rumors) as what it is ... Rumors. We have a few credible cats on here with sources, but we as a fanbase can’t go around throwing sht on the wall and expecting it to hit every day and making a reaction out of it when it dont. So unless (Cribby, TM26, LCE. etc) say something how about we slow down on the reactions, insults and fighting. It’ll just lead to disappointment.

I know they don't, but my point is they aren't choosing schools over internet rumors. Were getting out recruited. Offer a recruit something he can't refuse and no amount of internet rumor or ultimatium matters.

My other point is that if someone is feeding Intel to people they know frequent message boards, then that Intel is probably being told to numerous other cats as well.

I don't ever want to hear we lost a recruit because someone posted that he's interested in us. We lose recruits because on the field product and/or we get out recruited.

Nothing is every going to stay a secret, so quit blaming people posting rumors online.

He doesn’t want to hear it. I brought up Fred Davis being down here for an OV. A pic got posted and he had to stop everything he was doing to tweet out he was at “Art Basel”. One month later, Ivins posted he was on an OV. How’s the kid supposed to enjoy his OV soak everything in when it was leaked and Dabo won’t hesitate to pull an offer? Like C’mon, he’s arguing for the sake of arguing.

generally I agree with this sentiment. Leaks and whatnot happen in every message board. most of them are premium and do a decent job keeping a lid on things but word always gets out into the message boards.

Yeah but those guys were 100% not coming. A lot of these kids use Miami for bumps in money , especially if they’re south Florida kids. A large amount. Bag schools are threatened by the hometown team.

Imo @Zbrod95 is blowing this whole narrative out of the water, literally every team site going blows these kids moments. A very low percentage of commits are viewed as toss ups. Hence why witfong and others have such high percentages on crystal balls.

A kid sticking with a school isn’t based off of a writer saying “ he’s coming”. Very, very low percentage. The proof is in the pudding , when crystal balls start rolling in for a kid a week away from his announcement or a big dog like witfong posts one fans celebrate or are ****ed. Did Mansell ruin Tyriques moment ? Did he decommit since somebody on staff obviously leaked ****?

Tbh it’s actually kinda silly

I can see a kid getting ****ed if he feels that info got out from a coaching staff. I won’t speculate on the impact but I can see that creating a trust issue.

Overall, though, yeah - these kids are going where it makes financial sense as they see it - from bags to getting to the NFL.

People ruin Alabama commitments all the time. Seems like their insiders are super in the know. Same with Clemson. They're not losing recruirs over internet rumors because the kids really want to play for those teams.

I fully understand a recruit feeling like trust has been broken, especially if they told them to keep it on the low. But if that cat wants to be at miami, aint no amount of ivins or peter posting about it going to affect it. You change your commitment date, you repost your top 5, and then you pick miami at a later date.

If you're a recruit and the only person you've told is manny Diaz or your position coach that you're committing. You tell them to keep it on the low and no one even knows, not even family, then yes, I understand trust has been broken and maybe you pick another school.

Not saying that Saban doesn’t shut guys down because he does but Jeudy visited us last and Neal took all his OVs before he committed. Devonta was a silent at one point

Jeudy visited one of the last weekends before Enrolling early.
