It might have been a ball, but it was close, and he could have been punched out. Great at-bat.

I'm definitely not chastising him for swinging at the pitch. It was a two strike swing, and exactly what you want a batter to do. You HAVE to protect the plate there.

Agreed all around. Great job in that at-bat and on that pitch. The 3-run bomb after that was almost like theirs --- work the count in your favor, pitcher makes mistake leaving the ball where he shouldn't have, boom.

I believe you are right. If we lose it would be:

NCSt 2-0
ND 1-1
Miami 1-1
UVA 0-2

Best we could do is Tie NC st if we beat ND and they lost to UVA but they'd have the head to head.

But looking pretty good early on 2-0 good guys over NC St and threatening for more.
 
So much for that... NC St got out of the jam with no further damage and already tied it up 2-2.

A loss tonight and we cannot make the Championship (NC State would). A win tonight means that we could advance to the Championship by either: a) beating Notre Dame; b) losing to Notre Dame AND UVA beats NCST.
