A Few Guys Arguing Non-Stop [F/K/A "Let’s check on Lane Kiffen"]

He tried to count an Oregon bowl game when Mario was Miami’s coach but doesn’t want to count a bowl game that Lane coached in.

Someone tell Liberty that Arkansas is in the SEC. No one, not even Lane Kiffin, can succeed against an SEC team like Arkansas.

“But Mario….”

Wait for it.

Arkansas can only lose to top tier SEC programs?
Do you think teams dont lose? Even great teams lose games. Sometimes its the way in which you lose. Some losses are bad. Some are a mistake here or missed fg there.

Has anyone said lane is perfect? Nah... lane wins more. His career numbers prove it unless you pick and choose which years matter.

Im gonna be real. Yall boys saying his fiu days dont matter are the EXACT SAME as the guys that said no one wins at temple. Its golden all over again.

I’m well aware, which is y I said when he’s under someone, he’s a better recruiter b/c he has no choice.

U also need to understand that at this time, Kiffin was busting his *** to reach a certain status. Once he achieved that status, he tapered off tremendously.

Like at a certain point, data becomes out dated & irrelevant. What are the current trends? To continue to bring up something that was accomplished 15 yrs ago, or being a benefactor of inheriting a USC program that was legit recruiting itself does not equate to Kiffin being a good recruiter. U know how I know that? B/c there’s tangible data showing from 2012 (while at SC)-present it’s fallen off.

And for the ones defending this **** poor effort this cycle stating “his strategy is to recruit small HS classes & use the portal”, I think he needs a new strategy b/c Ole Miss had the #2 Portal Class for 2022, & all that led to was going from 10-3 in 2021 to 8-5 in 2022, on a 4 game losing streak.
I think they loss like 3 or 4 games by a combine score of 7 pts though.

8 wins at Ole miss is pretty solid honestly. I really think ppl have a misrepresentation of what Ole miss place in the football world is.

Who lost 3 or 4 games by a combined score of 7 points?

Still *****ing about the end of his season?
Lost to LSU bad. Talent wise, Ole Miss shouldn't even be in the ball game and weren't.

Lost to Bama by 6. Talent wise, this shouldn't even be close. Game was tied going into the 4th. He did more with less.

Beat A&M. A&M has on paper, a big talent advantage. He won, shouldn't have, but A&M was a **** show. Talented, but still a **** show.

Lost to Miss State, a toss up every year. Egg Bowl, big rivalry, and can always go either way. They had a pretty good coach on the other sideline. RIP Leach.

Arkansas, talent is about equal. Lost by a lot and lost the turnover battle. That cost them, but they still put up an insane 700 yards to 500 for Arkansas. Don't turn it over, score might flip.

TT, can we just chalk that up to being a meaningless bowl game? People love to do that here when we lose. Should've won this game, but they didn't. Lots of turnovers again, still over 550 yards gained.

You got three games they should expect to lose on talent alone. They shouldn't even be on the same field kind of talent disparity. If one questions why there's a talent disparity, I don't know what to tell you as Ole Miss will never recruit on pat with Bama, A&M, or LSU.

They didn't finish well, but 1 and 5 doesn't tell the entire story. Sure sounds bad, but then you look into it and it's not as bad as it looks. Beat a team we lost to and lost two surefire games we'd lose. The other three, maybe they're toss ups, but given our year maybe we don't even win one. Which is neither here nor there.

Can we discuss LSU & the statement about Ole Miss shouldn’t even be in the ball game? I’m assuming u’re referring to talent difference.

What if I were to tell u that both LSU & Ole Miss played 23 guys in regards to most snaps, and LSU boasted 14 blue chips out of the 23, while Ole Miss boasted 10? So I wouldn’t use the expression, “shouldn’t be in the ball game” to imply LSU’s talent was far superior. Ole Miss did very well via the portal. In fact, LSU leading rusher was their QB b/c their “star” RB was a 2 star kid.

So what is it about Lane Kiffin that would lead us back to dominance considering that a lot of guys around the country are "pretty solid"?

Duke had garbage players and won 9. Usc almost made the playoffs after firing their coach the season before.

Youre right our results were pathetic.

First, Duke doesn't have "garbage players". They might have lower-rated players, but they have been attending an excellent academic school and appear to work hard. Which, of course, is what you have been bloviating about with your Man-Crush Lane, that he gets more out of his talent than others.

Second, Miami had a bunch of garbage players, who smoked too much, joked too much, and quit during the Homecoming game. Between the 2022 class and the 2023 class, Mario will have flipped nearly the entire roster, replacing the lazy quitters with players willing to do the hard work.

But, sure, you're going to keep making this about Mario on a Lake Kiffin recruiting thread...

You would call me **** sucker or the other childish names you say to my face.

But keep believing you would.

First of all, I didn't call you that name. I coined the term "Kiffin ***********" to describe people who are constantly cramming Lane's **** and ballz into their mouths to white-knight for him. If you think you are one of those guys, you have control over whether you engage in that behavior or not.

But please don't act like I wouldn't say that to your face. I would.

I realize you're playing your little fake-manly game where you try to intimidate someone based on a mythical fear of your implied violent response. Maybe that works on other people. I just don't care about that nonsense.

So...a very long post that admits what Crossover won't admit.

Ole Miss doesn't have the talent, compared to the rest of the SEC.

I already posted the facts. In four years, Lane has signed a "bottom-three-in-the-SEC" recruiting class three times. And his bump class was sixth in the SEC.

But but but, I thought the entire purpose of 30+ pages and dozens of Crossover diatribes was to prove to us that Lane isn't a lazy recruiter and that he created some genius strategery to rule the Portal (which he's done for exactly one time)?

Thank you, your post now allows this thread to be closed out. No matter what Lane did 15 years ago, he is currently not doing very well in recruiting within the SEC.

Appreciate your honesty.

PS, I also took note of how you told us that 1 and 5 "doesn't tell the entire story", even though crossover insists that wins are the ONLY metric...

I think its been said but why alot of us wantes kiffin is that he gives you a Xs and Os advantage with his offense.

Shannon, golden, richt, manny, mario. None of those coaches have had that. Mario is by far the best recruiter of that group and will stack more talent. Which miami needs.

The same way JJ gave us a advantage with his defense. Lane would do for the offense. No im not calling kiffin jimmy johnson or putting them in the same league. Just stating we havent had that.

South Florida kids would thrive in a lane offense and miami football would be fun again.
