What skills as a coach does mario have that makes him a big time head coach?

Why do Fiu fans and Oregon fans both say he is a overrated head coach and fantastic recruiter.


Whats funny is we as a fanbase can tell any team the negatives on manny, golden, shannon but we refuse to listen to fans who have witnessed mario for years. Very arrogant of us.

I actually thought he was pretty good at selecting assistant coaches. He had quite a coaching tree of success from his time at FIU and at Oregon.

Lane can't recruit. That's not true.

Lane wouldn't recruit as well here and the Columbus mafia (I crack up every time I see this, so dumb) wouldn't support him in the same fashion. While he might not be Mario on the trail, he's **** good. NIL is the giant equalizer in the modern day recruiting game and if given the same or close to it support, Lane would capitalize as well.

Lane would've jumped ship at the next great opportunity. Okay, and? Do you know our history? Every winning coach here has used this place as a launching pad to another bigger job or more money. Well, those that didn't get fired.

Lane is a **** good coach. He would've done better this past year, but long term we better hope it's Mario. Why some have to tear another good coach down to make themselves feel better about our guy, that's just silly to me even if I get it.

We try to tear Lane down with unfounded ideas? He just lost 5 out of 6 with his team. His guys. If people are going to blast our first year coach who ended up having to use a true freshman QB, please explain to me why a phenomenal coach like Lane had such a collapse with everything under his control.

Umm he plays in the SEC. Had the 28th hardest schedule in the country. With a mid tier sec program.


like asking why wake forest struggled down the stretch.

Except no one is claiming that the Wake Forest coach would dominate at Miami.

Lane lost to Arkansas and Mississippi State. Middling programs. Check Arkansas’ last five games. Then he lost to Texas Tech and their backup QB, and Texas Tech isn’t SEC as far as I know.

Maybe we should be looking at Sam Pittman since Lane is the one opponent he could dominate.

Who could not be in awe of Lane's coaching ability. I mean, he's only in year 3 and went 8-5. The last Hurricanes coaches who did that were Al Golden and Randy Shannon. Look how good they were.
 
Hmm, so Lane loses 4 in a row and 5 of the last 6 in year 3 at the same school, and so many of you are still fighting each other at the chance to suck him off. Y'all are funny! Don't think for a second if any coach at Miami loses in similar fashion in year 3 that you wouldn't be calling for their head.

Actually i wanted clawson way more than mario.

Lane and clawson were my top 2 choices.


Mario lost to mtsu and duke and youre balls deep on his johnson.

A few things can be true:
- Lane would have won 9 games here year 1
- Because he won 9 games he would have had a class ranked 9-14 in the end
- He didn’t expect to stay at Ole Miss therefore recruiting is a struggle
- His philosophy will be more portal wins than recruiting wins while at Ole Miss

Mario will ‘fix’ the issues in the program but Lane would have made TVD a 4,000 yard passer IMO.

Miami and ole miss are not the same. Never have been. Never will be.

Winning 8 a year at ole miss keeps your job for life.

Winning 8 a year at miami gets you 5 years or so.

Mtsu is a juggernaut that miamis 4 and 5 stars cant compete with. We need 3 more classes.

Duke had a first year coach and dog walked mario last season. With half the talent.


Mario lost 7 of his last 10 last year. Got 40 put on him how many times?
