It’s going to be interesting to see what happens when the annual counter goes back into affect.

Wouldn’t surprise me if guys like Lane take smaller classes like 10 high schoolers with more sure thing prospects and leave the remaining 15 for transfers.

Umm they are almost identical.

Fau won 3 games per year for 3 seasons prior to lane getting there.

Thats 9 wins. Then in the next 3 seasons they won 27 games.

Mario as a better recruiter only got fiu to 8 wins in a season.


Yea mario is better lmao. Its a known fact mario is not a good football coach. Hes a great recruiter and talent evaluator.


Yall just feel like arguing against facts.


Because im realistic about mario it bothers you. Everyone hopes hes successful here. It all depends on his hires and after year one he hasnt been good at that.

Thats like me saying lets only compare their times at fiu and fau.

Or you saying oregon vs ole miss.

You judge coaches on careers. Not certain time periods.

U talking about the same FAU that H Schnelly built from a FCS school & turned them into a FBS school b/c of his success at the FCS level?

Let’s compare programs before Kiffin & Mario took on these positions, respectively:

Winning Seasons:
FAU: 4 vs. FIU: 0

Winning %
FAU: .396 vs. FIU: .267* (*.109 due to sanctions)

Bowl Records:
FAU: 2-0 vs. FIU: n/a

Division Titles:
FAU: 1 vs. FIU: 0

Conference Titles:
FAU: 1 vs. FIU: 0

NFL Draft Picks:
FAU: 7 vs. FIU: n/a

Come on bro; this is not to say FAU is some gold standard of a G5 program, but FIU is by far the worst of the two programs. The most successful coaches in FIU’s history r Mario & Butch, two guys this site love to chit on while praising other coaches who never coached here.

Dont really know where you are going with this but lately mario has coached miami to its worst season ever. Averaged 18 points a game. Lost to mtsu and duke.

Thats what hes done lately.


I really dont get how its hard to understand. Mario wins by out recruiting people. He isnt a good game day coach, or a good game planner, doesnt know how to use timeouts, doesnt make great hires when given all the resources he needs, doesnt fire people that need to be fired.

Miami wins if he keeps recruiting and makes the right hires. It will never be because his coaching.

Richt immediately improved miami. Because hes a good coach. Mario did worse than manny yet im supposed to think hes better than lane.

thats pretty much hes doing already. He seems to want around 14-15 high schoolers and save for tranfers

That was my point.
Realize at this time FIU still recruited better locally than my school. FIU routinely grabbed All dade county kids, fau would get the honorable mention types. Him n Pete Garcia clashed behind the scenes at FIu but he gave Pete the ammo to fire him by sucking it up after winning 8 games amd gettinmg himself fired.
I hate FIU so its whatever with me.

& FIU in 2022 is still having the same issues, post Mario. That’s my point. At least FAU have tried; FIU is and will always be a trash program, which is y to date, this is our worst loss on record.

From speaking with FIU fans, they generally regard Cristobal as an overrated coach who was a great recruiter.
