The fouls they’re calling on us are so much softer than the hacks it requires for them to call UVA

UVA's entire defensive philosophy is "There's no way they will call fouls every trip down, so let's just hold and hack". People always talk about Bennett and why he isn't interested in the NBA. He knows that hack nonsense would be exposed QUICKLY in the NBA, or in any place where you are expected to be an athlete. The NCAA allows UVA do to this, because it appeals to old farts that pine for the days of the four corners and no shot clock.
