6, 7, 9

We have Morris who has a horrible football IQ out there at QB and we had a boom or bust big play offense the last 2 years.

We lost Duke and Dorsett our 2 best big playmakers on the team.

Before they went down we were 7-1 with our only loss to a clearly superior FSU team. Clearly the offense was not the same without those 2 and having to rely on Morris putting together scoring drives.

9 wins is a solid season under the circumstances, but everyone can continue the meltdown.

The defense was a problem just like everyone knew it would be coming into the year.

Consigliere is here.

There are two issues I have:

1. Improvement (ACC Record, since OOC changes year to year)

Year 1: 3-5
Year 2: 5-3
Year 3: 5-3

Sure we won 6, 7 and 9 games but the ACC performance was repeated. I agree that Duke our best player went down and had an adverse affect on the team, but allowing 90 points to Duke and VT...that isn't going to cut it. I don't see much improvement and the way we look soft and flat at times is really scary.

2. BOLD PART: If the defense was a problem, why is Al allowing it to continue to be a problem?

For Al to keep the same scheme and DC shows that he is allowing this to continue to be a problem. He is not putting these kids in the best position to make plays, he is not maximizing and playing to their strengths. Sure there are talent issues, but it is only part of the problem on defense.

Next year the talent may be better but unless he makes the changes that are necessary (DL, OL and DC), I expect another 5-3 or 6-2 season in the ACC.

This was Goldens apex. Like Radio in 2009. Next year, 7-5 (4-4 in the conference and a embarrassing loss to Nebraska) at BEST, but more likely 6-6 and 3-5 in the ACC.

He is fin, the program is fin, and Shalala couldn't be happier.

Trust your eyes people. Last season Golden told us, we just need to stay the course and allow the young players to grow up yada yada, not firing anyone, yada yada, after the atrocity of last season on D. They have manage to get worst on D, if that was possible. Throw out the non conference games and show me where have we improve. Please tell me one thing we are good at on D, tell me one thing we have gotten better at. I trust my eyes and i see the same thing as last season and i trust if No D returns i will see the same thing. These dudes dont change over night. They blame and love taking credit. Beating their chest after FAU and the likes. Enter ACC play and they start talking about Shapiro and youth. They are inept and cant match or counter any coach with a brain. Thats why they can never cause an upset and constantly get shallacked. In time these dudes will be talked about like Shannon was. I see the writing. The excuses have gotten pathetic
