There's a reason they had to pay a guy who's been coaching for about 5 years $600k and give him an OC title he probably hasn't earned from a coaching experience background point of view.

Richt is a really smart guy. He knows he's a low pressure "let's build a relationship" guy. So he hired a bunch of young guys with testosterone oozing out of their tear ducts to wrangle the recruits for him. He's always done it that way. He gets a bunch of yin assistants to complement his own yang. Rodney Garner was a guy like that at UGA.

Chise, I think this is the most lucid comment you've made. Succinct, clearly well thought out, and surprisingly intuitive.

Well done.

He did the same thing with Bryan McClendon, who's one of the best young recruiters in the business, he'll be a superstar Head coach in a few years.

This^^^^^^^ If you have never been to a game in Lincoln I highly recommend going the Nebraska fan's are by far the friendliest rivalries I have ever been around. Town was surprisingly nice and decent sized without feeling like a Podunk Gainesville town, with a good amount of hotties.

The guy is from West Hills like Kaaya. That should help a little; however, USC usually is very tough beating to get LA private school kids

Usually you're right. But with darnay it's sortve a huge contrast. He's actually all about a school not even shown up there & thats Texas. He loves Charlie strong. That area produces alot of highly ranked players but there's horrible competition. My nephew was going to Calabasas & is the #2 wr in the country for 2018. So I know a lil more about darnay & the area. He transferred to Img because we want him ready to play with anyone. Also in darnays case his numbers are way off. He's listed as a 6ft corner. In reality he's about 5'8 really pushing it to say 5'9. Also a cancer to the locker room

has learned that Calabasas (Calif.) High five-star cornerback Darnay Holmes is set to visit Miami on Wednesday with West Hills (Calif.) Chaminade 2018 Top247 running back T.J. Pledger.

Holmes, who is ranked by 247Sports.com as the No. 1 cornerback in the nation, says Hurricanes head coach Mark Richt wished him good luck before The Opening two weeks ago. Nebraska leads on the 247Sports Crystal Ball with Ohio State, Stanford, Arizona, Notre Dame, Michigan and Washington all involved. Pledger is pegged as the No. 12 running back in his class. He holds early offers from USC, Georgia, Ohio State and others. He said that he has had previous contact with Miami assistant coach Thomas Brown when he was at Georgia

Appreciate it
NEBRASKA???!! Lmaoooo come on man. Slide to UM

My thoughts exactly. Nebraska's putting together a pretty decent class, though. Keyshawn Johnson's son from the same spot is committed to them. Don't think anyone saw that one coming.

They're spending big. Keyshawn is pumping kids everywhere. He just started a sports agency.

Hightower's your nephew? If that's who you're talking about keep the U in his ear because he's **** sure a HIGH priority. My younger cousin is one of those elite SoFla 2018 DB's and I've always gotta a good word about staying home for college. The practice battles between those two would be epic.

You do realize the last time they played in a National Title was when we did? They also have 5 National Championships. Dont laugh to hard! We have sucked for over 10 years.

I agree. That is a cool stadium. You are right on top of the action and the town is pretty **** nice and clean. I was very impressed.

I know Darnay and his brother Derick whose at Arizona very well since I live in Southern CA and both attended my sons school Oaks Christian before Darnay transferred to Newbury Park and then Calabasas HS. He and his brother are very respectful and well rounded. They are well liked by former and current teammates. They have a very good reputation amongst coaches and parents who know them. My son is friends with Darnay and were teammates at Oaks.

The Dad is a former NFL player who is very difficult to get along with and controls all aspect of Darnay's life. He has done a great job raising and training Darnay. Darnay is a great athlete and talent who will make an impact wherever he goes. Having said that if the Dad is not on the trip to Miami I wouldn't put too much into it and dismiss as curiosity and fun. The Dad is the one who has to be sold on Miami.

Personally following Darnay these past four years at Oaks and elsewhere I would be shocked he picked Miami because it has never been a school he talked about or represented in the clothes he wears. I hope I'm wrong because Miami could really use him and he could start from day 1. I've heard rumors he is looking at Stanford, ucla and Ohio state. He is vacationing in Miami with TJ Pledger (Chamanide HS where Kaya attended) and Matt Coral (5 star 2018 QB Oaks Christian). My guess Kaya got Pledger and Darnay to make an unofficial trip while on vacation in Miami.

Wow, that's interesting. Seems like Keyshawn's kid going anywhere but SC would be like Irvin's kid going somewhere other than The U, but I guess not.

I know Keyshawn's a Kaaya fan. Wonder if he'd throw some kids our way.

Pops definitely is the main one handling that recruitment. But if you know Darnay like that then you also know the role Keyshawn plays to all those boys. I strongly disagree about how well liked he is amongst his teammates but hey maybe that's just my take from hearing my nephews comments on him & his old boy. Personally I don't want him here. I think we're far better off with the kids were currently targeting at dB. But that's just my 2 cents. Brad takes a huge role in recruiting kids to um especially from the west coast. I agree that's how they ended up here.

Pretty sure we played in the NC game the next year without them.
