It's a horse **** stadium as well. Was designed so that more fans were inside, shopping and watching the game on moniters than in the stands. Low Life Stadium.
That's the truth

Its funny you mention this, apparently some billionaire in Europe has been trying to get an MLS franchise to Miami and has been consulting with UM students with the design. As an alum and supporter, I would like to see this plan for a 20,000 seat stadium expand to a 50,000 seat stadium. With the Billionaire and the school splitting the costs and revenue. While we would have to share with a soccer team, the smaller more intimate feel of the stadium would provide a better game day environment. Not a fan of the downtown location though, I would prefer the tropical park location
I blame the lame Canes fans, who were watching yesterday's game on TV somewhere within 100 miles of the stadium. There were tens of thousands doing that!
Maybe the U ought to re-evaluate their admissions as well, and cut down on the high number of wierd foreign types, who don't go to the games as students and will never go to the game as alumni.
(The U has it's share of weird foreign students)

Well that would be nice to see if it ever plays out, downtown though?
IMO the stadium must be near campus to help with out students and the feel of having a college football team, the seats be close to the field to give that homefield advantage and hold 55k, max 60k.

you want it to be big enough for the big game crowds. 55-60K -ish
F the "big game" fans, support the team every game!
50k is perfect.
Agreed. Limited supply would also make demand go up that much higher causing most to buy season tickets.

I'll say around 55,000 but yeah we don't need a big stadium. Look at Autzen, not big and still one of the best home fields in the country.

Great and completely bigoted and racist idea. Turn away qualified academic candidates from all over the world, in order to hopefully sell a few more football tickets in 2024.
This is subtly the worst post of the year. Smh. A new low, even for you, Smokey.
I'll kindly pass the mic back to you and yours so you can call me some names now. Thanks.
Agree with Bomb. This is a candidate for worst post of the year. lol.

Because of limited future bowl opportunities, the five smaller FBS conferences are starting three new bowl games in the Bahamas, Boca Raton and Miami in 2014, sources told ESPN.
The bowls will be unique in that the five conferences (American Athletic, Conference USA, Mid-American, Mountain West and Sun Belt) will provide the teams as part of a coalition, sources said. The bowls and five conferences will work together to determine which teams will play in the bowls each year.
"The non-power leagues were denied opportunities in other bowls, so they had to create opportunities for their teams," a source said. "The new bowls are a result of existing bowls not entertaining opportunities for those five (non-power) conferences.
"The old days for one conference to have a deal are dead. It will be very fluid."
In August, the MAC and Sun Belt announced the creation of the Camellia Bowl in Montgomery, Ala., in 2014. That means there will be four additional bowl games for a total of 39 bowls, including the College Football Playoff title game.
The Miami bowl, created by the American Athletic Conference, is expected to be held at Marlins Park, home of the Miami Marlins. The American Athletic will be the "anchor" conference and its opponent would come from the other four non-power leagues, a source said.
In August, ESPN reported that the Bahamas Bowl will be held at Thomas Robinson Stadium and would be the first postseason bowl played outside the United States since the International Bowl in Toronto from 2007-2010.
A news conference will be held Oct. 14 to officially announce the Bahamas Bowl. All five non-power leagues will rotate in the game.
The Boca Raton Bowl will feature teams from Conference USA, MAC and the American Athletic. The game will be held at FAU Stadium on the Florida Atlantic campus. FAU is a C-USA member.
Besides the new bowls in the Bahamas, Boca Raton, Miami and Montgomery, another new bowl will be played in Detroit at Ford Field between the Big Ten and ACC in 2014. It will replace the Little Caesars Bowl, also held in Detroit.
Of the 39 bowl games in 2014, there could be at least 20 that exclusively pair Power Five league opponents (ACC, Big Ten, Big 12, Pac-12 and SEC). The remaining 19 bowls would be either Power Five league opponents against non-Power Five league opponents or teams from two non-Power Five leagues playing each other.
