I do not think he meant anything by it, man. Seems like he is saying you are more dedicated a fan than many people who actually attended The U. I could be mistaken, but I read it more as a compliment than an insult.

I understand some UM fans are rightly sensitive to this subject because of the garbage F$U/UiF fans spew that "most Miami fans never attended the school" and their feeble attempts to use that fact as a dig at our fanbase. It's such an elitist and stupid perspective, as it necessarily means you can only be a fan of college football if you went to college. But it's just those fans' weak rationalization for the fact their schools sit in the middle of two completely garbage towns.

Personally, I graduated from The U (c/o 2004), but UM has been my team since age 5 when I went to my first game. I don't care whether you went to UM or not as long as you support the program. We have a lot of local alumni that don't show up to games, or even watch on Saturdays from abroad. As an alumnus who is painfully aware of how many UM alumni still live in South Florida but never show up for games, I will happily roll with the guys who show up and support the team (no matter where their degree is from).

EDIT: And we do have a beautiful campus. Lots of open spaces and a Mediterranean design that makes the campus feel even bigger than it is. If you can get down there, it's worth it just to walk around (and make sure you visit the intramural fields mid-day on a sunny day).

You're sleeping on the inked chick. Wrist tattoo, back tat, tat on her right hand, at least two different dyes in her hair, and she is holding that drink up high. That sort of shamelessness never disappoints.

That's short sighted. I know many canes who are obsessed with the canes who didn't attend the school. Some of the most die hard fans I know who attend pretty much every away game and live in NC and VA never attended miami. Heck I never attended miami but I'm a season ticket holder who lives in bama (and yes the drive down is long).

But back neal. I hope he ends up a cane, but if he's as good as he looks he's going to have to turn down some major bags especially from certain SEC schools.

That's true. It takes a strong person (and family) to turn down those types of bags, especially if you don't come from money. Think about it there is no guarantee you will make it to the NFL, but that's $ right now or jobs right now that will get your fam out of their current situation. Takes a strong person to say to their mom I know this bag will help you not struggle now, but give me 3-4 years and I HOPE to make it right.

At this stage I can't really blame a kid If he takes a bag especially with the rumored numbers going around. They say it's a business decision and these days it really is. Heck I had to make one myself (not to the level of these kids)...go to UM law school with a really nice scholarship (but UM ranked pretty low) or go to Vanderbilt which was a top 20 law school and better national rep.... even though I Iuv UM I had to make a "business decision"

Bag this, bag that. Explain how we got the 2018 class then if all these schools we recruiting against offering bags. Are there some instances where some recruits are being paid around the country? You got **** right but our staff just last cycle shown the ability to win recruitments regardless of the other factors in play outside of jobe(the obvious one).

Per Barton simmons 247
Rundown: Neal looks like the guy with the highest ceiling among all the offensive linemen. He’s massive (upwards of 6-foot-7 and 360 pounds) and whenever he went up against an elite edge rusher, it felt like an event. He took every elite guy’s best shot and the way he responded makes me think Neal's got No. 1 OT upside (currently he's the eighth tackle in the 247Sports Composite). Miami holds all seven picks in the Crystal Ball.

I will agree with you on that. Not every **** kid in the country is getting tempted with “gifts”. It’s a very small percentage of kids and our fans just need to realize we are just flat out missing on some of these guys. It happens and we don’t need to make excuses of “BAGS” every **** time!

By far my favorite part of the interview. The kid is not even officially a senior, and yet he is already a film junky. He has the perfect combo of skill set/attitude to change the culture/abilities of a position group. Considering that our OL is the weakest link of our position groups, he is the most important target on our board.

I agree, but he should be the SURGE19 ambassador and recruit his friends. Too many games.
 
Really weird thing I just noticed when looking at Stevenson's ranking.....right now he's #11 overall on 247. There's 10 5-stars, so obviously he's the highest ranked 4 star. I remembered in the past around this time of year thinking they don't have a lot of 5-stars, so I went back and looked at previous years. Starting in 2013, they have EXACTLY 32 5-stars per class. Exactly 32. For 6 years in a row. WTF?? Have I been living under a rock and this is common knowledge? Cause otherwise that's kinda ridiculous. There's no chance in **** they evaluated exactly 32 5-stars for the past 6 years in a row.
