Virginia Tech Haters....Unite

Bicho is frustrated with the Va Tech situation more than anything.....When we are competently coached and organized we should never ever lose to them. They do all the easy things right but don't have access to the talent. We have all the talent in the world on our doorstep and we cant get out of our own way with the coaching and administration. Bicho at least thinks Golden showers will soon rain down on the Hokies in the next couple years.

This sums it up: devoid of all significance. Just unbelievable they do so well sometimes. Really boils down to consistency and like mentioned, doing the little things right.

In. Every year they pass another team on my most hated list. Currently a solid 4 behind FL, FSU, and ND.

Well, those pussies have been waxing our asses for years.

I don't hate VT. Like FSU, they're our measuring sticks. We see how we measure up to them, and thus qualify our progress.

Lots of pups here. Otherwise, there'd be a whole lot of Notre Dame haters. Now THAT's a team worth hating.

I loathe the golden domers as much or more than VT. We'll have a thread about them soon enough, I hope we can break off a piece for them this year too.

Great post. I too hate the VagTech Hokies.

One thing that wasn't initially mentioned was how dirty they used to play on the field up until recently. Who remembers when that POS Jake Grove took out Santonio Thomas' knee from the side after the play was whistled dead back in '03 or '04?

One of the dirtier plays I've seen captured on camera. The worst part was Grove didn't get booted or punished after the **** ACC reviewed it.

I know BWCD will be in here. I think he lives near Blacksburg.
I live about 3 hours from Blackburg, still in VA moving towards Tennessee. Doesn't matter though--I'm surrounded by Blacksburg grads and VT fans in general who are a bunch of bandwagoning, mouth-breathing, knuckle-dragging dolts.

There are a few (read: miniscule amount) of VT fans who actually know what they're talking about when it comes to football and just root for their team and/or alma mater. I have zero problem with these folks.

It's the mental-midgets who say crap like: "You know, God paints the leaves maroon and orange in the Fall for a reason!!! Go HOKIES!!!". These people, I CANNOT tolerate, and they're the majority of the fanbase. These same folks walk into my office and see all of my Miami stuff, and talk all the Thug U bull****e, but, when one of their Tidewater thugs decides to get arrested (ahem--Michael Vick), it's a tragedy and has no reflection of VT football or Beamer and his boys at all...no connection could POSSIBLY be made by a rational mind, and for someone like me to try that is, and I quote: "sour grapes".

A few weeks after the shootings at VT which were tragic indeed, I had a VT grad here at work in conversation, and to distract away from that b/c I didn't want to rub in such a bad thing that happened up there--I started talking football. This was the year that our latest uniforms came out, I think it was just before the 07/08 season, so I mentioned those when he asked me what was new with Miami. His retort? "HA--did they finally decide to abandon the green and go for a County-issue jumpsuit orange?"...it was all I had in me to stop from putting this dude on blast right then and there and talk all the stuff in the world about the shootings. Somehow, we're still Thug U when facking massacres are happening on YOUR campus? Gimme a **** break.

Back in 2007, when we actually went up to Blacksburg for that game, the shootings were still a topic. The CanesOverHere group I tailgate with normally started our walk from Prices Fork Drive to Lane Stadium, and were doing our chants and having a good time. Well, one drunk VT dude with about 3 empty cases of Natty Light behind him gets in one of our female fan's face. He's screaming in this girl's face, "Come on! Go ahead! Say something about the shootings!" she says, "Why would you want me to do something like that?"...he replies, "So I have a good reason to tell the cops when they come after I've beat your ***!!!"

That there is the integrity and class that VT folks speak of when pontificating about their adoring fanbase in Lane. It's a small sample, but the sentiment is not that far off. Redneck culture run amok.

Even funnier--when you mention guys who were really good players for them pre-Michael Vick...like say, oh I dunno...NFL Hall of Famer Bruce Smith...most have NO idea what you're talking about. Even dudes who were good for them that had "All-Name Team" names like Jim Druckenmiller or Ken Oxendine...nada. Not even a rattle in their skull.

They don't have much history to begin with, and what they do have they can't recall it for some reason. Convenient. They're what I like to call a microwave program (that really ****es them off). Up until Mike Vick, you never heard of these guys and they never won ANYTHING. After that, every single one of their fans supposedly have been "fans for life" and "have supported the program for years". Whatta bunch of BS.

One more story and I'll let my fingers rest on my vitriol for VT--there was a guy who worked as a summer intern for the company I work for, and he's from a tiny town named Gate City, VA. They've had a good Single A Virginia football program for a long time. Have sent quite a few players up to VT as walk-ons, and one or two earned schollies. One of those was this guy--his name was Jonas Houseright. He played special teams for them for a little while, never got further than that. Well--we switched offices after we built a new one, and we had a move-in day to transfer all of our stuff to the next town over where the new place was. Jonas was drafted to be with the guys helping move all of the office furniture in (because he was indeed a strong kid).

Well, I start bringing my Miami stuff in, and he sees me with it, and tries to take it out of my hands saying, "No no no! We can't allow this in here! We're a Virginia Tech company!". He talked a bunch of junk, and said to me, "Surely you have SOMETHING with VT on it or having to do with them that you keep in your office." I replied: "You know what, now that you mention it, I do." His eyes lit up with sheer delight...I wasn't a complete turn-coat Miami fan in his eyes after all.

Just when he was at his happiest, I said: "Yep--I'll need your help carrying it too. It's a trophy case. Doesn't have anything in it, but it's still heavy. I keep it in my office to remind me of all the national titles VT has never won."

He left my office, crushed and long-faced...and hasn't talked to me since. This is about 4'ish years ago, now. LMAO...

they own us...so not much *****ing we can do now is there....as for the REDNECK song...I have been there and it is quite an exp...cool fans great place...until our team learns how to beat them they have the right to be ******** to us...

Yeah I'm sick and tired of the Virginia Tech slurping that goes on every pre-season w/ the College Football media. They haven't won a national championship EVER but they always get penciled in as a sleeper pick for the Big Show. I understand that V. Tech, coached by Beamer, has been a model of consistency but they are the main reason that the ACC is 2-10 in BCS bowl game.

Their defense this year, is overhyped b/c of the weak schedule they played last year... every time they play a competitive team their defense starts to look suspect. Although their offense brings back nobody but Logan Thomas, the media just expects Beamer to sprinkle his magic dust on them and they will just figure it out.

I expect Va Tech to take the biggest dive in the Coastal division this year.... they will lose to North Carolina, Miami, Clemson, FSU, and Virginia. Hopefully to Ga Tech as well.... but i'm not counting on it.

Their D will be good, but not great. They'll play solid, but they'll give up big plays. They still don't have much up the middle of the D-Line, and even though they return Fuller, their secondary will be only okay, I think...Hosley didn't make many big plays last year, but he held down the WR he was on a LOT for them last year. They'll miss that. They're moving Antone Exum down from S to start opposite Fuller at the other CB spot...could be a mistake. James Gayle and Bruce Taylor will be the bell-cows for their defense.

On offense, they'll have to rely on some JAG's at RB, and it's a catch-22 for how Stinespring/Beamer want to run the offense. Either rely on a piece-meal running game with Thomas running the ball just a little bit to keep him healthy (because if Mark Leal has to come in, they'll be turrible), OR--do they say fvck it and feature him in the running game as well as the passing game...and just hope he stays healthy? The WR's they have coming back aren't bad, they just haven't been featured yet b/c of Danny Coale and Jarrett Boykin getting the spotlight the past few years. Marcus Davis and DJ Coles aren't bad WR's, though. Dyrell Roberts is good at WR if he stays healthy. Their OL will be experienced, but they aren't deep. I don't expect them to dominate anyone, especially without a franchise-type of RB to block for like they've had the past few years in David Wilson/Ryan Williams/Darren Evans. One injury, and their rotation at OL becomes only 1-2 deep...and that could get Logan Thomas hit. A lot.

The suckiest part about living here is that due to the VT fans being so dumb about their team, I have to know a lot about their team in order to somewhat shut them up when they start running their mouths. Always fun to do though...shut them up, that is.

I totally missed this thread. I hope the entire VT campus goes up in flames with every VT fan trapped inside. And a crazed Korean offs any remaining survivors.
