25-26 Transfers

Seriously? This is just another slobber-job for Jai Lucas.

Look at you, hypothesizing about whether Luis became a me-first player FOR ONE GAME. Are you ******* kidding me? Rick ******* Pitino is giving up on a player because of 5 minutes of selfish game-time? If that was true, he would have quite coaching college basketball decades ago.

Not sure if you've noticed, but "Player of the Year" is an individual honor. You could fill an encyclopedia with the names of selfish athletes who won individual honors.

Why don't you spew some more generalities like "building a roster ain't easy". Good lord, the pablum that passes for posting...

More hot**** from @hotshot ...
You letting the politics board spill over to this one? Hope not.

Anyway, we need all the players we can get so ... that is what I am for. Hope our budget is sky high.

Interested to see how the roster construction plays out. Seems like we're in it for a lot of guys that everyone is trying to get but I have only seen a few guys (Trey Green from Xavier and bringing back Bethea) that could be role players or taking a flyer on someone.

Need 12 to fill the roster. Probably looking at maybe 3 freshmen, including the Bosnian kid and if we sign Allen. That is 8-10 portal additions. They're not all going to be Reneau caliber.

We are the team to watch for him according to trilly Donovan
From Orlando. Top 10 in rebounds and just outside of the top 10 in blocks per game in the Big 12 this past year. Indiana ran a lot of two big lineups with Malik Reneau over the past few years (Jackson-Davis, Ware, Ballo) and Udeh gives you the rim protection that Reneau does not.

WTF are you talking about, "politics"? Are you insane?

Your BASKETBALL posts are inane. "We need all the players we can get". Yes. Beyond obvious.

I've moved well beyond that. I look at the big picture. We have already struggled through several (slowly improving) years with Super Recruiter Mario (a UM classmate of mine who I love) during a period of increasing expenditures, which have watered down the massive advantage that football programs USED TO HAVE when hiring a super recruiter.

And now the same issue is coming to basketball, but even worse, because there are now NON-FOOTBALL schools who can dump as much money into basketball as Miami is promising to do. So, once again, we hired a Super Recruiter (assistant) coach to run our basketball program, and I have legitimate questions about whether hiring a super recruiter will yield the same advantages IN THE FUTURE as were once enjoyed IN THE PAST.

Let's try to go high-level with this discussion, and dispense with the obvious platitudes like "we need all the players we can get".

I'm worried about the fact that Villanova and St. Johns might have the same money (or more) to spend as Miami does, when we are trying to make ourselves as attractive as possible to the Big 10.

I have far bigger concerns than "how many players we can get" this year.

I remember Udeh from when we recruited him in high school. He would be a huge addition. One of the better defensive bigs in the country. His offensive game is very limited and he stinks at FT's (sub 60% for his career), but shot blocking near 7 footers who can rebound don't grow on trees.

He would be the best true center we've had since Jekeri (I always considered Omier to be a 4 even though we played him at the 5).

The ex-Indiana commit? I like him, but not as a starter right out the gates. Maybe to backup the 3 and 4 spots.

That 3 spot would need a certified bucket. Like the kid from UFC.
Averaging close to 20 ppg at over 45% from 3 at the pro level. I get that it's Bosnia but I think he's plug and play, and 6'7 to boot.
