2025 NFL Combine

I agree with you. But my point being is that it was two peoples opinions from a conversation. Right wrong or indifferent, that was their opinion. 1000% percent could be a smoke screen or on purpose to put out false information too. I hear ya.

But this idea that because he had money and can’t be controlled, they are making up they felt he is arrogant and brash (in a conversation) is far less likely then that was their actual vibe. Especially when I compare his interviews to the other top QB.

Lol.

Agree. I watched three straight days of that Combine. The contrast in the way Cam and Shedeur conducted themselves in media appearances was obvious. Personally, I would describe Shedeur as conducting himself in a “ casual” manner. Cam is always serious. That is who they are. But I totally understand how that could be perceived in a negative way. It IS a big deal to be there and to be under consideration for the first pick in the draft. That merits a little gravity, no matter how comfortable you may be with NFL people.

I thought I read that he did. But just saw it clarified. The article said he brought the combine to him. Well thats relieving cause I wouldn't have much confidence in him personally. Maybe he could be an average strong safety. Too slow for free.

I wonder how much that cost him, since he's bankrupt and all...

That has more to do with perception than reality.

That's what the whole point of the tweet was. The idea that because Shedeur isn't hat in hand trembling with fear saying, "yessuh, nossuh" is why he would be perceived as being arrogant.

Just as easily as someone could call him arrogant & brash, they could call him confident, but of course they won't.

Come on. There are hundreds of other guys at the Combine who are NOT "hat in hand trembling with fear saying 'yessuh, nossuh'". Do you honestly believe that is what Cam Ward is doing? Yet nobody says a word about CAM being arrogant.

There's a very wide range between a Stepin Fetchit personality-type and, say, a Nat X approach to dealing with people.

Particularly at the QB position, a top draft choice is trying to convince a franchise to invest $30M in one player, and then even more money to build a coaching staff and offense around that particular player. And the reality of the NFL is that over a 5-year period, almost every drafted player will experience HC/coordinator coaching turnover and free agent comings and goings. Not everyone can be drafted by the Kansas City Chiefs, and you can't pout every time you don't have an ideal coaching staff and roster around you.

So for Shadeur to be casual and dismissive of multiple teams, knowing full-well that the "worst" teams get the highest draft picks, is not a very convincing display of leadership and commitment. Regardless of how he feels in his heart and mind, he can certainly express confidence in his ability to turn any team around. Does he have something else on his calendar that is making these meetings "a waste of his time" to him? It's a job interview, not a dating app where he can just "swipe left".
