As a Cowboy fan...I would LOVE to have him.
What makes Otani even more amazing is that you can legitimately make a case that he is a HOF pitcher AND hitter at the same time. You can't argue that about anyone else. Deion wouldn't have made it in the HOF as both a CB and WR. Forget any guy playing two different sports. Sheeet, even Babe Ruth stopped pitching and he was playing in only a fat white guy league.I agree with u that baseball sometimes you don’t break a sweat and football is way more physical sport but you could be strong ,fast ,athletic and still can’t hit a baseball is the hardest thing to do in any sport look at Jordan one of the greatest athletes ever couldn’t hit for shet and he grew up playing baseball
This and it isn't even closeIt’s not just the skill of “playing baseball” vs “playing football” it’s that being a premier pitcher and a premier hitter is two completely different skill sets. Playing DB and Receiver are very similar. There’s a ton of cornerbacks who could play wide receiver in the NFL. There’s no offensive players who can pitch like Ohtani in MLB. The football comparison would be like a quarterback who also played defense.
Also we’re comparing a guy who has done it at a hall of fame level professionally to a guy who hasn’t played a single professional snap and will likely not play both positions full time professionally. Hunter will be a cornerback who gets snaps at wide receiver occasionally. There’s been a ton of guys who have already done that in the NFL.
They’re not taking into account the collegiate/professional aspect either. There’s been plenty of college baseball pitchers who could also hit really well but none of them ever transitioned to the majors doing both because the difficulty level from college to MLB is huge. The only guy in recent history I can think of was Rick Ankiel who was a decent pitcher but had arm issues and made the transition to mediocre outfielder. He was nowhere near the hitter or pitcher Ohtani is though.
& that’s the conundrum: does skill = harder? I think baseball, golf, & hockey r the three most difficult sports to play, skill wise, but there’s a reason football players have an avg. shelf life of 3 yrs playing ONE position.
It’s a POV ?, & this is what makes sports a uniting & divisive entity. I believe what Ohtani is doing is incredibly special, but the physical demand of a football player whether it’s collegiately or professionally is hard to fathom. Doing it on both sides all game long for 3 seasons is even harder to imagine.
Howie dathe second i saw the post i said “howie roseman is a fckin dckhead.”

I agree with your take in general but my only quip is golf. Lots of dudes can shoot par or better in this country. What separates the pros is the mental part of it for the most part. Do you consider this part of the "skill" category?

I was just trying to prove that when you compare him and Ward, is it that far fetched to think he is coming off as Brash and Arrogant?
I think teams could care less that he has Dion by his side and is wealthy. If anything, it’s probably a positive. He is used to the spotlight and money and that shouldn’t impact him.
Why?Both of the people who put out those tweets are straight up idiots.

Definitely not.He ain't going below 4.
Is that dude saying cam is a project but shadeur isn't? The dumb **** people come up with just cause they think they have skin in the game is wild.So what's the big difference between Shedeur Sanders & Eli Manning's situation?

Simply another Amazon prime subsriber pulling deions **** and his kids get the reach around. The db shouldnt be getting drafted period & they invited him to the combine. If the media didn't follow them around like this because of deion they wouldn't get half of this pub.Ward 2024: 4,314 67% 39/7
Richardsons college CAREER: 3,105 54% 24/15
Who tf is this clown?
Shiloh did not get invited to the combine. Is that dude saying cam is a project but shadeur isn't? The dumb **** people come up with just cause they think they have skin in the game is wild.

Hey now.. 90% of the game is half mental.100% the game is mental, but bro there’s not a lot of dudes that can shoot par or better out there. Lol. I’m not the most avid golfer, in fact I will tell u I make Barkley look like Tiger Woods on the drives, but I can putt with the best of them (no lie, I’m $$ 25 yrds in)….it might just take me a min to get to 25 yrds in.
But a lot of dudes I’ve played w/ can’t golf, golf, not like a true professional. Seeing what true golfers do is mind blowing. In fact, I would argue playing pool, golf, bowling, futbol, hockey, & baseball takes real skill. I’m not talking backyard or homies getting together type ****, I’m talking professionally. Jmo
