2025 NFL Combine

No argument at all in him as a corner prospect which is why he'd always go high. Because at the end of the day he can be a elite shut down corner at the next level. Him as a wr I'm not gonna bother to go into. As much as he got toasted in various coverages I'd say the reason behind it is exactly that he wasn't mastering either position. He was playing against inferior competition and thriving simply off of his athleticism. That doesn't work anywhere near as easily against a league full of dudes who have mastered or are mastering their craft. I wouldn't bet against him as a cb. But I really think people gotta tamper their expectations and also realize the level of competition he was going up against. Either way it goes not much more time till we see exactly what he's gonna be
We are in agreement for the most part. Especially on why he gets dusted here n there, too.

I do think he'll play more WR than you anticipate though.

I agree with u that baseball sometimes you don’t break a sweat and football is way more physical sport but you could be strong ,fast ,athletic and still can’t hit a baseball is the hardest thing to do in any sport look at Jordan one of the greatest athletes ever couldn’t hit for shet and he grew up playing baseball
Agree, agree.

I think there’s legs to what McShay has said. His whole episode he also mentioned it wasn’t a negative report. It was normal conversations he had with people. And they mentioned it in passing.

Take for instance the difference in these two answers. Because ultimately teams are trying to compare Him to Cam.

“Already wealthy” I mean so is Cam right? People trying to spin it for clicks as Dion hate IMO

Will be the most successful orchestrated prospect drop in years.

Props to the Front office (Team President, GM, Player Personnel & Scouts) who pulled this off.

The tweet was in reference to what Josina Anderson reported that one team in particular said that he came off as arrogant & brash during their team interview.

I was just trying to prove that when you compare him and Ward, is it that far fetched to think he is coming off as Brash and Arrogant?

I think teams could care less that he has Dion by his side and is wealthy. If anything, it’s probably a positive. He is used to the spotlight and money and that shouldn’t impact him.

Should be Tranny_Thoughts as this guy is a moron

& that’s the conundrum: does skill = harder? I think baseball, golf, & hockey r the three most difficult sports to play, skill wise, but there’s a reason football players have an avg. shelf life of 3 yrs playing ONE position.

It’s a POV ?, & this is what makes sports a uniting & divisive entity. I believe what Ohtani is doing is incredibly special, but the physical demand of a football player whether it’s collegiately or professionally is hard to fathom. Doing it on both sides all game long for 3 seasons is even harder to imagine.

You raise some very fair points.

On the "skill" side, I do believe that makes it "harder" to play everyday. Obviously, the PHYSICAL toll is harder on a football player, injury-wise and perhaps "number of plays" wise, but generally speaking I think we have to be very respectful of the high level of SKILL required for Ohtani to both pitch and hit at a very high major league level, even if he is not sweating very much.

Again, I respect what Hunter has accomplished at the collegiate level. It is impressive, even though I think that it is not completely unprecedented, though the game of football HAS changed (at both the collegiate and professional levels). And I don't think that any NFL team will allow him to have the same percentage of snap counts as what he logged in college.

Tremendous player, no doubt. I'm just trying to keep things in perspective. What Ohtani does is unprecedented over the last 100+ years, factually, without any hype. It may be a bit less physically demanding, but incredibly difficult and requiring a great level of skill.

That's all. No disrespect intended to Hunter AT ALL, I just think that the last 100 years of precedent should establish which one is the more difficult double to pull off, regardless of whether we consider "only skill" or "only physicality".

I realize baseball is less physically demanding. I'll never forget David Letterman making fun of pitcher Terry Forster for being a "fat tub of goo".

Ward 2024: 4,314 67% 39/7

Richardsons college CAREER: 3,105 54% 24/15

People using he can't do it in the NFL are hustling backwards. The reason people don't believe he can is because it seems impossible.

It's n opt whether he "can" or "can't". It's not going to happen because no NFL team will allow it.

Starting CB with an occasional package on offense? Sure. But playing the entire game on offense and defense isn't going to happen in the NFL.

And let's not pretend that playing WR and DB is the same thing as the old iron-man OL/DL players. Those were guys who played hard on every single play.

I mean his whole argument is that Sanders isn’t blue collar and wealthy and that’s why he is slipping as a QB prospect. When over history, 95% of QB prospects are actually in fact not blue collar and come from wealthy backgrounds. In fact, 2 qbs off the top of my mind come a very similar scenario for his argument, the Mannings.

Interesting podcast. McShay talks about some conversations he had regarding Shedeur with two different teams in the top 10 who need a QB. Both basically said they had an "official" meeting with him at the Combine and that they got the feeling that "he didn't take the meeting seriously". They both implied it wasn't a very professional approach on his part to what is essentially a job interview. McShay throws out a few thoughts on why Sanders may have this approach, one of which is that he may already be aware of some back door deals going on regarding where he is going and simply isn't concerned about those two teams. McShay brings up the comments Deion has made about wanting Shadeur to go to certain teams. He also points out that networks have alot invested in making sure this draft is watched and keeping Deion, Shadeur and Travis Hunter attending in Green Bay is important....

a little conspiracy theory stuff ....

Here's the interesting thing, though.

The reports said that both teams were "QB-needy" teams picking in the top 10. So unless he's got some "top 3 guarantee", that's a terrible approach to take towards teams that need a QB.

Even if he doesn't want to play for "X team", you still should be making yourself so desirable that another team wants to trade up for you. But if you **** around and the word gets out, your value declines, even if some team "does" want to take Shadeur.

It's just unprofessional. Meanwhile, Cam is out there answering every question and acting like every team who wants to meet with him is a team he would love to play for.

Prospect drop?

If he goes from a potential first rounder to the third round, that is a disaster. And you'd need a LOT more than "one team" to pull off something like that.
