I dont think are DBs are that slow, they are def not blazers like a Curtis or Clarke, but they are definitely fast enough. During that despicable game on Saturday, there was a play where Michael Carter got lose and Ivey and Couch were covering major ground chasing him from behind, it ended up being Couch catching him, but that surprise me becuase Michael Carter is not slow by any means. If we can land him somehow, him, Curtis, and Clarke would add some serious speed and ball skills to a slow group of DBs we currently have on our roster.
Not speed that that our guys lack, it's ball skills. Tall DBs with ball skills wind up being high 4 * and 5 * recruits, which we have a hard time getting for a few different reasons that we aren't going to get into on this thread. But, the kids with ELITE ball skills that are 5'9-5'11 get looked past by the "blue bloods" and are usually left for the Auburns-Penn State-Miami schools of CFB. Problem with us is we go chasing after these 5* kids knowing good and well what the end game likely will be and when we strike out consecutive years we wind up with our current issue of about 5 scholarship CBs on the roster, which is beyond inexcusable. Just because a 5* kid puts us in his Top 5 or Top 10 shouldn't mean that we should pass on a kid that's ready to commit to us right then and there. You can't tell me we couldn't have landed the Steven Ortiz kid, or the Ricardo Hallman kid, or Charles Brantley, or JaDen McBurrows, or Jordan Oladokun (still available btw...any info on him?), etc etc etc etc.....one thing consistent with all these kids named here is they are sub 6'0 or standing 6'0 w/shoes.....so whatever strategy we have for evaluating CBs ain't working because there's no way we couldn't have had AT LEAST two of these kids above locked up by August of 2020 and then you can try and land a big fish CB if we have space available......major roster management issue for CMD that needs to be addressed asap and I believe with an experienced DC he would immediately make CMD aware that this cannot happen going forward in 2021 and beyond. We lock up guys as early as possible to fill our roster needs in every other position outside of CB and it makes zero sense to meI dont think are DBs are that slow, they are def not blazers like a Curtis or Clarke, but they are definitely fast enough. I completely agree I was just saying speed isn't necessarily the problem theres more to it and u explained it well. Not speed that that our guys lack, it's ball skills. THAT WAS THE 20 MPH DIAZ WAS SPEAKING ON LOLI dont think are DBs are that slow, they are def not blazers like a Curtis or Clarke, but they are definitely fast enough. so basically we still fuct.Everybody that’s recruiting Dawson are not recruiting him at Corner, in fact part of the reason he committed to Auburn is because they planned on using him on Offense as a Slot-Back, he might’ve played Corner, but AU sold him on being an offensive weapon that they would get the ball to in packages.
Miami is one of the few teams that really sees him as a CB, everybody else just kinda sees him as a multipurpose ATH that you can use on offense, ST’s & possibly at CB if necessary.
I know how this goes. Miami is recruiting him honestly as a CB, which is his "money" position. Whereas the kid wants to play offense and have the ball in his hands. Whereever he ends up (not Miami), they'l let him do that for a year or two, and then convince the kid to flip to defense. Similar to what Auburn did with Noah IgbinogheneEverybody that’s recruiting Dawson are not recruiting him at Corner, in fact part of the reason he committed to Auburn is because they planned on using him on Offense as a Slot-Back, he might’ve played Corner, but AU sold him on being an offensive weapon that they would get the ball to in packages.

Hence he won’t be a cane and we’ll be left with our d*ck in our hands as usual..Everybody that’s recruiting Dawson are not recruiting him at Corner, in fact part of the reason he committed to Auburn is because they planned on using him on Offense as a Slot-Back, he might’ve played Corner, but AU sold him on being an offensive weapon that they would get the ball to in packages.

Well, let’s tell him what everyone else is telling him?! Get him on campus and show him the Immediate playing time available at CB. Why don’t our CB recruiters not know how to Sell Opportunity and play the game.Everybody that’s recruiting Dawson are not recruiting him at Corner, in fact part of the reason he committed to Auburn is because they planned on using him on Offense as a Slot-Back, he might’ve played Corner, but AU sold him on being an offensive weapon that they would get the ball to in packages.

I didn’t say that, just said that’s how he’s being recruited.s
so basically we still fuct.
Speed is a problem. **** hasselbeck even said after the duke game he felt for miami to continue to improve they needed to get faster at DB and LBI completely agree I was just saying speed isn't necessarily the problem theres more to it and u explained it well.
Anything outside of no one else wants him equals bad news in my opinion. Rumph battling with any other DB coach is doomed yet alone multiple positions.I didn’t say that, just said that’s how he’s being recruited.
Where did you see that? And from what’s been said Dawson doesn’t want to play cb. He wants to play wr.

It was said during his original recruitment. Miami was one of the only schools recruiting him a cb. And ivins mentioned it again recently. Said dawson might even have higher upside at cb but he wants to play offense. And he said he doesn’t think miami has a chanceWhere did you see that?
