He was lazy and didn't like recruiting. The guy has a history of producing talent so that's easy for him to sell. And it wasn't like he had to beat out elite teams for those guys.

I think the poster you responded to makes an interesting point. I’d take it a step further and in a different direction.

We are TE U. Yet we hire TE coaches that aren’t elite at their craft. They are recruiters.

If we hired an ELITE former TE or a real TE Coach. That position would recruit itself. We have the history and current production to lean on.

Fields out of state prowess isn’t strong enough to Land the elite out of state kids regardless of position and he isn’t impressing any kids with his TE tree.

I’d rather we swap him for a TE coach that can focus on landing elite TE’s.

We are pretty much locked in for Te recruiting for the next 2 classes already brah. Field isnt here just to recruit Te's.

Miami recruits TE on its own...any TE worth a **** nation wide should have us in there top 5
 
Manny can’t recruit yet we have blue chip prospects all over the defense along with some 3* who turned into monsters

We have high rated LBs waiting in the wings to take over for our seniors. We have a 4* waiting to takeover at striker for Finley.

You're overestimating how good our defense is. Its good...not great.

His defense is predicated on sacks, TFL, and turnovers. The latter is a luck based metric and doesn't carry over and is at least in part a reason why our seasons have been doo doo the past two seasons...too many games where we don't get our way with a timely turnover and have been unable to do anything to sway our fortunes. Basically, our success over the past few years, however little, has been predicated on another team ******* up and missing an assignment...this is offense and defense...not like we are dictating games...its been quite the opposite.

Most of our players are incredibly overrated by our own fanbase. You listed plenty of players in a few posts on our defense on the DL and DB and outside of Greg Rousseau (a Mark Richt recruit), I'm not seeing any All-Conference players there yet. Maybe Nesta...but again, two players out of two whole rooms of players...nah man, he can't recruit. He had a pretty **** poor finish to last year - hence the need for the portal...and this year looks like ****, too.

Also, this is less a Manny issue, and more of an issue with the rest of the staff.

I've said numerous times...I dont care how "good" of a coach they are...Rumph, Banda, Hickson, and Stubblefield can all go. They can't recruit at the level needed and expected here. Sorry. I don't think any of them are particularly special as a coach either, but whatever. Butch Barry is getting close, IMO, to joining them. Our OL haul this year and nearly non-existent, and the first half of the year was so bad, its a fireable offense...but I do concede the OL has played better recently.

so it doesn't count when you evaluate and sign elite talent before anyone else? ok

What highly rated LBs? Huff and zach are the only 4 star Lbs on the roster next year. There will be about 10 LBs and only 2 are 4 stars. I do like brooks but that's not good recruiting.

Or stay home and watch the school your actually committed to. I get it it's free. We're recruiting him he's been to plenty games and spoke with the coaches enough to know we want him. Also I've seen both defenses. He can eiether play in a linebackers featured defense or he can go play pity pat in Maryland. Losing zero sleep over a guy who wants to play at Maryland

All facts here it’s the biggest problem with this staff is that they are all below average recruiters and the fear for me is that this might be the most talented team Diaz will have during his tenure and at best we will go 9-4. We better hope he is a great evaluator of talent.

A lot of speculation. PropJoe has given us the lowdown so I will stick with what he says. But I am just not buying the "Diaz is waiting for Flowe" nonsense. Diaz can drop any one of our LB commits at any point and make room for Hypolite. He is better then all 3. I stand by my statement there is more to it behind the scenes that we are not privy to.
