I like our slugging pct when Brevin is involved
He played with Brevin & Bubba in HS & played with Buba at USC too.I like our slugging pct when Brevin is involved
He’s a hammer not a nail love it. He looks like he’s 100x the player #44 and #53 are I will not name them bc I hate how they play the LB positionThis kid is an absolute no-brainer, for a multitude of reasons.
He only played 2 games this year, so he could have 2 years eligibility with us, correct?
Duh, I'm an idiotThis is a free year for everyone.
That Gorman team was loaded in 17- him and bubba used to be all over the field on defense. IMO Palaie was the best player on that 17 and 18 team. When Bubba/Tate transferred in I cracked a joke to one of my players about him coming to Miami (they grew up in the same village) he said he wasn’t going anywhere... Well would you look at thisHe played with Brevin & Bubba in HS & played with Buba at USC too.
The familiarity is there & just like how Jaelan Phillips was the #1 ranked player in the 2017 class, Palaie was the #1 ranked LB in the 2018 class.
I think the staff should really consider making an effort to get him here.
Duh, I'm an idiot
I wouldn't read into that. He loves it here and will recruit other Gorman kids here but that doesn't mean he's passing up NFL money if he thinks it's there for him.Bubba talking like he’ll be back next year
Yea I feel you . That was really just speculation . Idk if he’s ready for the league just yet , he’s really gonna have to bulk up to play like he does . I honestly think that’s why his tackling dropped off for that stretch of games , it seemed like he was protecting himself or was already hurt .I wouldn't read into that. He loves it here and will recruit other Gorman kids here but that doesn't mean he's passing up NFL money if he thinks it's there for him.
The issue has always been distance, most of the Samoan/Tongan Polynesian kids tend to stay closer to home with the West Coast schools, but Hawaii, Utah & Cali have some very gifted Polynesian players every class that are NFL caliber. For years I have hoped we could establish a Samoan-Polynesian connection with our recruiting. Those guys are tough as nails and play the game with violence and reckless abandon. He is a take in my book just for the opportunity to establish the pipeline.
