The guys he got to perform were really good. But had a 30% hit rate . So if that trend holds, 7/10 of our 3* won’t do much here but 3 of them should be pretty good. They need to be the right 3

Oregon was still good 35-12 with 2 conference titles ....like to see a Miami comparison (2018-2020) 3* and 4* star busts....took several overrated 4* that were clearly 3* talent imo ...

On the one hand, the 3 stars who stayed have provided depth and have not been heavily relied upon for meaningful contributions.

While an argument could be made that the hit rate is low due to poor evaluations of said 3 stars.

Interested to see how this thread unfolds.

Not poor evaluations of 3 stars. Just proves 3 stars just aren’t as good as 4 and 5 star players on average, and you can’t evaluate yourself out of that. Every 3 star we get will likely be a JAG.

Personally think this is where Alonzo is going to add a ton of value. His ability to evaluate talent is top notch, if that translates from evaluating college kids to high school I feel pretty good going forward.

Is he watching film of hundreds of high school kids? Is that his role?

We are going to find out. Half our class are 3 stars and a lot them are not in top 500. The guys that hit be ballers or we have to absolutely hit on every high ranked kid we signed
