2011 Class

Considering Al Golden had to put that entire class (sans Dorsett who never wavered) together in like 2 months, with one of those months being mostly dead period, i think that is a pretty **** good job.

Botts is one of the best punters in nation.
Chickillo, calling him average is simply being a ball buster and not understanding of what's really going on with the line.
Dorsett is a very fine player.
Finnie is a very fine player.
Johnson is a very fine player.
Denzel is a Top 10 linebacker in the entire nation. As good as anybody.

I think Pierre is getting bashed a little too much. He's not bad, but unfortunately, he's our number one DT and that is mainly the problem. He's a role player thrust into a key role.

Scott...should be a guy that came around as a junior, but forced in early. He's not bad.

Goudis will be our place kicker for the next three years.

Grimble...he's a bum...there were obvious warts...but you take a chance on a 5* bum over a 2* bum.
Paul...injuries so far...
Rico Williams...a bum...
Crawford...hasn't gotten a chance yet.
Gadbois...developmental tackle.

All in all, considering the circumstances...

Good post.

Empire building should be the central theme of our recruiting going forward. I think the 2012 class gives us a good foundation to work with and that is the class that Golden will live and die by. I want to see what Duke, Bush, Howard and company will be doing in year three. I would hate for there to be a repeat of that waste of a class of 2008. The chemistry just wasn't there.

Alot of those kids would not have been recruited by AG if he had the whole year. Last year was his first class IMO

no sweat my dude, y'all don't play them till the end of the year. and UF is in on Collins, Thomas, and Kirkland??

Good stuff funny guy but I think in the end we lose all three because of our record and sanctions later on in the year. Hopefully im wrong and the Canes snag all three. God knows we need these guys to play next year

2 games into Pierre's 2nd year and we are calling him JAG? May be true, but you can't make that call right now.

Crawford doesnt have a position... I'm starting to think that his signing was a bit of a political signing... The kid was always said to lack speed as a safety... The prior staff wasn't sold on him in the fall of 2010 and he was a bit upset... Al took a chance on him and hasn't found a position for him... He's only been here for 2 years so he still has time... That being said, he had a lot of things he had to do... I know Dmoney said, he had to lose weight but I think the kid came in out of shape... 5'8 200 pounds isnt good...

How come Dorsett is talked about like he's a really good player while Pierre is a JAG?

What has Dorsett done?

Majority of those guys should of received redshirts instead of being thrown in the fire. Kids had to play.

Yes, they HAD to play thanks to the moron who preceded our current HC. Golden said this program in some instances equalled and exceeded the problems he encountered when he arrived at Temple.

Believe it.

Then how/why did we just send about a dozen guys to the NFL back in April?

how are guys who havent been on the field as RS Freshman or Sophomores JAG? I think were getting a little ahead of ourselves

I can only speak for myself on this one- using the term JAG to describe current performance and not what I think their ceiling is a year or two from now. I'll try not to use it so liberally in the future, but it will get tiresome to repeatedly type "player struggling with the size and speed of the game who still may turn out to be good later" repeatedly. :P

touche lol

its a tough time right now and i have a feeling saturday is only going to make it worse
