I don't put this on Golden at all considering what he had to work with when he came in, but look at the 2011 class

Botts-Great Player (too bad he's a punter)
Chickillo-Average at this point, still have high hopes for him
Crawford-Made no impact thus far
Dorsett-solid receiver, we are waiting for him to break out
Finnie-solid starter
Gadbois- still 2 years away from even making an impact
Goudis-should take over next year
Grimble- no impact thus far and I don't see him ever becoming a player
Grooms- at Marshall
Eddie Johnson- we got a baller here, great find
Antonio Kinard- who knows where he is
Gionni Paul- we have heard he is good, but yet to make an impact on defense..good special teams guy
Denzel- best player on the team
Pierre- no comment... (JAG supreme)
Scott- should be a solid receiver, hasn't really performed well in the first 2 games
Rico Williams- JAG supreme

There are some decent players from here but how many difference makers? Denzel, EJ (let's see some more consistency), Chickillo (big maybe)

The class wouldn't have been all that horrible if the classes before it were good because it has some solid role players, but that's obviously not the case

is this the class randy was making his masterpiece with 2 commits in December??

Considering Al Golden had to put that entire class (sans Dorsett who never wavered) together in like 2 months, with one of those months being mostly dead period, i think that is a pretty **** good job.

Botts is one of the best punters in nation.
Chickillo, calling him average is simply being a ball buster and not understanding of what's really going on with the line.
Dorsett is a very fine player.
Finnie is a very fine player.
Johnson is a very fine player.
Denzel is a Top 10 linebacker in the entire nation. As good as anybody.

I think Pierre is getting bashed a little too much. He's not bad, but unfortunately, he's our number one DT and that is mainly the problem. He's a role player thrust into a key role.

Scott...should be a guy that came around as a junior, but forced in early. He's not bad.

Goudis will be our place kicker for the next three years.

Grimble...he's a bum...there were obvious warts...but you take a chance on a 5* bum over a 2* bum.
Paul...injuries so far...
Rico Williams...a bum...
Crawford...hasn't gotten a chance yet.
Gadbois...developmental tackle.

All in all, considering the circumstances...

I am tired of the excuses Pete

I'm not providing excuses at all... just trying to provide more reasons as to why we aren't a good team

Scott has a lot of raw talent.....prob would have red shirted ideally

are we really "in" on a recruiting class after ONE year....wow...you guys are really now reaching.

I'm not seeing the speed or explosiveness from Dorsett. He had a nice return at BC and a nice grab at KSU but he needs to step it up.

U don't see the speed and explosiveness? That is all I see and that's the problem. He will be fine. He is just a pup as is ALL of 2011 class. They are pups and some guys take longer to develop than others.

How is it that we can call 2nd year players JAGS and busts? You do realize they have 5 years to get four in, right? This is the frickin beginning of year 2. Some of them have **** near four years left. SMDH.

No, I don't see the speed and explosiveness. When he gets the ball I keep expecting him to make someone miss and score a touchdown.

I gotta agree, the '09 and '10 classes were valid cases of going in on but the '11 class is reaching.

To me it has a lot of **** good contributers.

:ohlord: Its f#%king year two for these kids and we are already questioning their talent....

Looking at the class... the fact that we landed on more than only 1 or 2 kids as solid contributors is a testament to:
a. how good a recruiter golden is
b. how terribly unfair it is that these kids did not have a chance to redshirt and learn (with exception of Perryman who is a superstar in making)
c. just how terribly young our team is. How many seniors are starting???

There's freshman wide receivers making an impact every week. You either have it or you don't. I'm just not seeing anything special from PD. You knew Santana and Reggie were going to be great within their first 10 games. Golden needs to recruit better players.

9 of those kids are playing as Soph's and getting considerable playing time when it should be juniors and seniors. Then you take into account all the freshman from the last class that are playing and making a impact tells you something.

I wish we had all the juniors that left early, we would be in much better shape but it is what it is.

With all these kids getting playing time... unless they get worse we should be pretty good in a few years. I have seen a lot of talk about the 98 team and there are a lot of similarities here.

Malcolm Lewis looks the part, and I think will be special. Also... sometimes it takes some guys a couple years to really grow... I liked what I saw out of Hurns before he went down, I thought he had a chance to have a Hankerson/Streeter type of year. Still has the chance, but sucks he has that concussion problem... two in a month is not good at all! But point being, he has been continually developing!

Can't really disagree with anything posted. I will say from the little i've seen from Scott i'm intrigued. Yes the first game he had a couple questionable drops. What I like about him is he seems to be deceptively fast. Last game and in the first game he caught a couple of slants and accelerated very quickly to top speed. I think before the season is done he'll become one of our best wrs if he can remain focused.

Remember all the hype he was getting in the spring? I kind of understand now where it was coming from. Kid seems to have some nice potential

Make no mistake, he is crazy fast. U can see that. What ur looking for is short area quickness...that he is not. He is not a wiggle type of dude. Think streeter. Great straight line speed. Stop and go...that I don't see.
