2010 Recruiting class and its effect on the 2013 Canes

I expected Golden to be competitive vs ****** offenses. He's effectively lowered the bar here to exceed expectations. This potential 9-3 record is a mirage. This is the easiest schedule we've played possibly in the last 30 years. We've beaten exactly 1 team with a winning record.

Hey why not, people are acting as if the Yahoo story and the resulting investigation were meaningless as far as recruiting is concerned. Lots and lots of dreamers in this fanbase.

Or he's fully aware of how dreadful the situation was and dumbed down our schedule so we could survive. Who knows? 8-3 may be a mirage, but it beats 3-8

Really? In Butch's second year, we went 8-3 and our "tough" schedule consisted of FSU, VT, East Carolina, Rutgers, Pitt, BC, Memphis, The Citadel, Syracuse, WV, and Temple.

Not exactly murderers row. In fact, most of our years in the Big East was not exactly the toughest schedules we have ever played. Our SOS right now is 52nd in the country, and would be a lot better if Florida hadnt been decimated by injuries and totally collapsed.
 
People wonder why we lack top end talent and leadership? Because 09' 10' 11, classes that should give us our RS SR, SR, and JR classes, contribute next to nothing except for a guy here and there. The only guys in those 2 classes that are or were solid are Botts, Henderson, Chick, Perryman, Linder, Hurns, and Hagens. The rest are hard working and good kids but not the type of talent you build a winner with.

We are still a year or two away. It is what it is. 2011 was year 0 both on the field and in recruiting and honestly 2012 kind of was too. I'm not saying **** on defense doesn't have to get fixed, I'm just saying we knew before the year how doodoo our schedule was, no mysteries there, and 9-3 was the consensus prediction. So we beat UF and a bunch of whack teams and thought were hot ****. I'm happy if we finish off Pitt and show well in the bowl. Then we will have a long offseason to improve, bring in crazy talent for 2014 and 2015, and get 1 step closer to being back.

Yep. Shannon was totally unqualified for the job here. The man had no organizational skills, no people skills, his recruiting was beyond terrible, worse than Coker, the guy had no business being an HC here. If not for the MNW class he brought in, basically the one main place he had direct access to, his record would have been unfathomable.
 
The 2011 class was ranked a lot lower than 2010.

2010 class:

13th - ESPN
14th - scout
15th - 24/7
16th - rivals

2011 signing class was probably WOAT at miami. It was ranked:

33rd - 24/7
36th - rivals
41st - scout
NR - ESPN (they only do a top 25)


These 2 classes absolutely are killing us this year as they make up our upperclassmen. And the 2011 class will still be a problem next year.



2015 season

seniors - 2012 class - top 10 class
juniors - 2013 class - top 15/20 class
sophomores - 2014 class - top 5 currently -could be top 2 or 3 if some players fall our way.
freshmen - 2015 class, repeat another top 5 class. South FLA is loaded in 2015.


at this point the 4 classes will be made up of Golden's first 4 FULL classes.

And then we back.

I posted a thread about the putrid 2009, 2010, and 2011 classes but people didn't wanna hear it.

That means 3/5 of the classes on the roster are duds, and the other 2/5 are true freshmen or true sophomores.

That isn't an excuse for all of the problems on defense. But just look at the attrition from those 3 classes. And that's before you even determine whether or not the remaining guys are any good.

U can't say this **** dont suck. Those classes were horrible. U can't fill your class with squad fillers. Golden is a good recruiter no doubt about it. Still talent doesn't guarantee wins. Ron Zook would have Urban Meyers NTs. Its unfathomable how Randy never cleaned up south florida every year. Born there, play there coach there live there. Smh. Head coaching is much more than Xs and Os. But if yall think our defense is magically gonna be top 10 just by having better players and same prevent. ..not gonna happen. They will have to show more aggression and willingness to dictate to other teams

Al Golden makes excuses when his team has been out played by ****** teams and when he has been out coached by HCs of those ****** teams. All he has been successful at here is double talk, make excuses, and lower the bar so he can be celebrated for meeting a lowered expectation....

lol but the pathetic thing about Al Golden lowering the bar, is that he has failed to meet those expectations as well.... so then he continues to lower the bar to the point that he is now touting "accomplishments" that were already reached weeks ago. smh

Example.... Before the season began and everyone found out that the media picked Miami to win the Coastal, Al Golden was like "Great I want to meet the expectations thats been set here at Miami"..... I didnt hear him say "well lets curb our enthusiasm guys b/c Duke and VT has more talent then us and we dont have a shot at winning the weak coastal b/c "we're still building"

Now Al Golden is saying all this bs about how great of an accomplishment it is that the Seniors can finally go to a bowl game. pathetic GTFOH the results of the NCAA investigation was out after the UNC game and Miami became bowl eligible w/ 6 wins after the UNC win as well.

All of that was 5-6 games ago..... so basically none of the pathetic blowout losses to Duke and VT and close pathetic win to WF, should be an issue b/c "MIAMI IS BOWL ELIGIBLE YAY!!" "LETS POP A BOTTLE AND CELEBRATE!!!" smh

Whats even more pathetic is that the Golden excuse makers are okay w/ Miami being a program w/ no standards and low expectations as long as the Great Al Golden makes it sound good.

but what they cant explain is why if all of Shannon's recruiting classes "sucked" then why are Shannon's recruits the ones mostly on the field?

It all goes down to how pathetic Al Golden is as a Head Coach.... he cant even get "better" players then the ones you all hate so much from the Shannon classes???? hmmm... yet Randy Shannon's players are the reason why Al Golden has failed this year as a Head Coach. oh ok -_-

So basically in 3 years, even though the Shannon recruits that are Seniors have been under Golden's program the longest it's not his fault at all lol pathetic.

it doesnt add up.... sorry guys, come up w/ another excuse that will.

You all have battered wife syndrome. The excuses and rationalization are terrifying. The expectations have been so lowered because you are all blinded by your Golden addiction. Your friends and family are worried. You need to be sent to a rehab facility in Malibu, tied to a bed, and forced to sit in group therapy with other like-minded people so you can exchange stories about how you stumbled home at 9 am drunk off Pillars of Success on Thanksgiving morning, or how you once sucked a dude's **** in an alley for some Core Values.

Everyone is worried about you guys.
