2009 Recruiting Class - Where are they now?

Randy's corner recruiting issues are well documented. Its not so much a talent evaluation issue as having a bizarre worldview of what a corner prospect looks like. We landed Shannon type corners, they just all suck. He took prince kent over Hosley/etc. because Kent was a Shannon type of corner. Obviously atrocious, but we all saw that at the time and we are beating a dead horse on the corner issue.

Stinson hurts. The Denard situation is what it is. Would he be a contributor on this team? Probably, but its not the end of the world. He would never get the shot to play QB here. As for Geno, he ended up in an incredible situation. He's got great weapons and an amazing offensive system. I love the guy, and would have taken him, but from a pure talent perspective, is he that much better/different from Morris? If both had come here, would Geno start over Morris? If Morris went to WVU, would he put up similar numbers? Again, not trying to knock Geno, but not taking him isnt the catastrophic misfire that people are saying. If Akeem Jones goes to WVU this year and blows up, you can say the same things, but by and large the consensus is that hes not a Miami QB. It is what it is.

Outside of that, Randy just got beat for a lot of out of state kids. He also won a pretty big battle against UF for Ray Ray and Dye though that obviously didn't work out. 2009 ended up a terrible class, but its not the pure Shannon failure people are making it out to be. Outside of the corner issues, he made a lot of defensible decisions in a relatively down year in south florida.

I'd also add that if Randy was capable of putting together an actual game plan and developing talent on roster, these misses wouldn't look so bad. What if Streeter had more than 1 successful season? Or Forston lived up to his billing? Or Ray Ray, etc.?

I agree with this. Not many people had a problem with the 2009 class at that time. Heck, I though Dye and Vernon were gonna terrorize QB's off the edge....

If there is one thing that will always hold true, GoV...its that Randy supporters still can't ******* read. Illiterate group, bruh. This isn't just a list of misses...although, there are plenty in there.

It is a list of players from all forms from the 2009 (and in my other post, 2010) that were mentioned during the process. Lots of misses (because Randy missed a lot)...lots of local players...lots of national players were were in the mix for...its just a mix of players that people will remember their names.
