Idk, still think many are saying we don't have the money to compete... but if Mario ends up landing a top QB in the portal, I'm sure it'll only be because of our endless NIL.
Whatever NIL we have a 20% chunk of it better be set aside for a portal QB though. Maybe in the future it can be in the 15% range. Not for this pick though.

It’s either or.

Either we have the NIL money or we don’t. Either Mario is an Elite recruiter or he’s not.

IF we got it, then there shouldn’t be any excuses not to land a top QB. IF he is, then once again, there shouldn’t be any excuses not to land a top QB.

I’m not saying they’re not good but this should not be our priorities at QB…

We need a truly elite QB to get this program back to national prominence. Haven’t had an NFL caliber QB in nearly 2 decades…

Eh the argument is a lot easier in the first case, and much more difficult in the latter case. If we have the NIL, I agree there are no excuses - especially cause Mario is a good recruiter. If we don't got it than even if he is a good recruiter, it would be hard to land a/the top QB. It'd still be his job to land someone good enough though...

But on here, I'm sure all the doom&gloomers will put any success on NIL, and Failure on Mario - regardless what the reality is.

:ohlord: I mean we are talking about a Mario offense. His portal QB acquisition has been less than stellar. I think people who are making a wish list need to think first why would a good portal qb want to play for Mario especially if he has a third OC in 3 years,

This is an incredibly lazy take. The 'bro style' offense crowd are the same mouth-breathing imbeciles that think we should be throwing the ball 60 times per game. Go watch Michigan or Georgia and tell me the big differences in our offenses vs there's. Outside of not having a potato for a QB, you won't find many.

Also, you can't possibly be serious on us not paying NIL.

I’m serious about our NIL issues. Since Ruiz went south, we’ve been beaten for pretty much all major recruits. Remember we went whale hunting and came back with guppies.

I get what your saying about those two teams, but they are ranked 1 and 2 and we are not.

All I’m saying is that maybe Miami isn’t THAT great a landing spot for a transfer qb

I'm with you, the offseason will more likely see the first top 6-8 QBs go somewhere else and then we get Alabama 3rd string QB down here to be our guy.

Why would an elite QB wanna throw away his career to play for Mario? You gotta lower your standard cause were not getting them
 
Come on, Mario put Herbert in the NFL. The dude was #6 overall pick. Look at what Mario did with Anthony Brown. He came to UO complete dog ****, but left just plain ****. Mario is a QB whisperer. I expect for him to land either Michael Pratt or Arch Manning
