Is 10-4 the standard Golden needs to meet in 2014 to keep his job. That would allow a 10 win season with a regular season loss to FSU, an ACC title game loss to FSU, and 2 other losses including the bowl game.

If that is not the minimum standard that needs to be met, does the fan base think 9-5(including ACC Title game loss) is acceptable progress. Do we allow a new QB at the helm to excuse the staff from a progress mandate?

We will all agree that the ACC Coastal is an absolute joke. What is the absolute minimum you need to see in wins and losses to be behind golden for a 5th year? 10-4 ACC Title game Loss? 9-5 ACC Title Game Loss?

What we love about sports is the absoluteness of the scoreboard and the record. There is a black and white standard for accountability we can measure. A standard we rarely see in our lives outside the lines.

What is the minimum record you would define as acceptable progress?

We need to win the coastal period!!!!!! its sad discusting where our program is headed and as of right now it is trending down not up

Some are expecting a 7-8 win year next year not acceptable ..
 
I don't think Golden should be here regardless, as he is a proven loser, but I will stay on topic and answer your question.

Golden would need 10 wins minimum next year. 9 wins in any form is not improvement and should not be acceptable. After all, that is the only thing any supporters have to point to as being positive at this point.

Edit: realistically, I don't think we come close to sniffing 10 wins

Looking at that schedule. I could generously see 6-6. Does that get him canned?

I see losses against:
Nebraska, Duke, FSU, UNC, VT, and Lousiville. Cincy isn't a gimme but I counted it as a win.

No way he gets a 5th year without at LEAST 9 wins and a Coastal Title.

FSU lost 11 players to the draft and 6 coaches and they won it all.

For me, win the ACC or 11 games (which would include winning the coastal). The expectation this year was 10 wins + Coastal. Failing to meet those expectations doesn't afford him lower expectations in 2014
 
LOL at even the remote thought of winning 10 games. Our defense is absolutely atrocious. We play like 9 bowl teams. Oh, we'll put up points, I think, but I know for a fact we can give up 500 and 40 to any team with a pulse. ******* Logan Thomas, ******* Logan Thomas had 2, count them TWO cot dam Heisman performances against us. And you guys are talking 10 wins? My *** 10 wins.
