I guess this is true of most fanbases, but ours seems to be especially delusional. We are nowhere near as talented as we were in 2000. That was the best team in the country; we were screwed out of going to the Orange Bowl for FSU. Then we proceeded to blowout UF in the Sugar.

The likelihood of us making the Chic Fil A Bowl is very slim, much less one of the premier bowls.
 
i agree we are almost there. this year we need 10 games and acc. next year NC. Begins the next dynasty.

So when Duke, Flowers, Howard, Bush, Perryman, and Feliciano are all gone is when we take that next step?
 
Duke will be gone. Slight chance Howard leaves, possibly Flowers but Bush no way.
 
I see the progression towards a streak of BCS bowls before we get back to winning natty's. I think we keep improving and keep improving our recruiting classes but still expect a few more cycles until the machine that is the U is back in full effect.

A constant with all great teams is that they lose great players. Losing Duke and DP is rough, but as bad as it is we can offset that with a number of other players stepping up. With the young talent on the squad I believe that they could make 2015 special.
 
This coaching staff get out x and o'd by any team with decent coaching we are gonna have to recruit studs at every position to over come this staffs lack of game planning and in game adjustments.
 
What's the situation at QB to support this prognostication? Not agreeing or disagreeing but seems to me that Olsen would have to be the real deal to make this even remotely realistic.

I'm not saying Flowers isn't good but people talk about him like he's Anthony Munoz. I have yet to see him dominate in the run game. Let him become a star before we start for projecting him to leave. And Howard!?!? That's simply not going to happen. He's a zone corner in NFL at best because he lacks speed and whiffs on way too many tackles.
 
We need to be much better this season. This team must win 10 games and compete for the ACC championship or there needs to be some changes.

The coastal is dog **** and has been for a few years and we've been under "the cloud." That's gone, it's go time, big time players make big time plays.

I agree, Kaaya or Olsen needs to be for real in order for the team to take that step. Outside of QB we have the talent to expect a BCS bowl and contention for a playoff spot.

Agree that Flowers has been solid but not incredible and has a ways to go before even being mentioned in the elite category. With that said I'm pretty sure the kid has been reported to have said he's here for 3 years and then going to the league. I could be wrong, but I believe that's why so many people feel he's gone after this year.

Howard needs to have a monster year IMO to leave early.

Delusional. In 2000 I had high hopes for the team, we had good depth, and was feeling we got robbed of the title game. Currently, I still have doubts about Golden and staff going into year 4, we're giving up nearly 500 yards a game, we have doubts about our qb situation, we still don't have a complete DL (interior mostly), we still have LB and RB depth issues, and we can't even win the soft as coastal let alone the soft *** ACC.

How is this like 2000? If I had faith in Golden in still, maybe next year would feel like 2000 for me.
