1-0. Just another fair weather day at the Crib - Aaron Feld

It's amazing how much the student body changed from when I first showed up for undergrad, to when I finished law school. Socially, I don't know if I would have stayed if I had to deal with these kids on a long term basis.
Well it’s been the same way since I graduated in 08. The only people that care about sports are the locals. OOS students don’t really care about canes history.

Went to Miami vs UF in 2013, noon start I believe. Smh i mean i made the most of it, made sure i had a great time but good lord the heat was down right horrible. Felt like a hotdog in the microwave. They should ban noon games in Miami in September, maybe even October.

Why would we negate an advantage? It hurts visiting teams, especially with the way the stadium is currently set up...the away team gets baked in the sun while the Canes have a comfortable shade for our sideline. Most of the stadium is also shaded these days. Have you been to any games with the new stadium design?

Effort and execution looked embarrassingly empty today. Why should fans show up if the team doesn’t?

Somebody link him the clip of Ivey getting run over by an 18 year old 1 star white boy.
Does it matter if he is white asian or black?

Fans need to get they *** to the game. Sorry. I know alot of you live outa state, can't help that, but some of you live in FL and be online complaining. Get your *** out there. The school spending on the program. Them boys need our support
Facts. I live in Texas and will be at most of the UM home games this year. No excuses

I hope we play Texas A&M at noon when they come down. Let's bake their *** in the sun in retaliation for having us playing so late there.

Right you are!

Which begs the next question... why aren't WE wearing white at sunny games and force the road team to wear dark?

There's different levels to OOS students. There's a big difference from kids like me, that were from out of state, but still followed sports, and kids from overseas that can't grasp why college sports even exist. Walk around campus now, a lot more international diversity than in previous generations and while that's fine, you get a different feel on campus. Overseas rich kids are different than than the domestic rich kids we had to deal with.

Yes i have. You make a good point. I didnt give that aspect much thought.

What do you think is the better advantage, at noon (weather) or at night (atmosphere). It just seems the noon games especially vs a lesser opponent, seem uninspiring

For crowd/fan purposes i can agree that the noon games are ridiculous. But on the field i think it benefits us more than a night time atmosphere in a stadium that's not that much louder than the noon kickoff would've been.

What would Miami draw for a noon game against a name opponent, not including FSU and UF? Is the crowd issue only the time, or do noon games tend to be lesser opponents that haven’t been a draw historically?

Out of curiosity, I looked up the game summary from the 2001 home game vs Troy State. Game at the Orange Bowl.

12noon kickoff
Attendance 36K

Miami sleepwalked, was tied at 7 end of first quarter.
Led 17-7 at the half.
Scored 21 in the 3rd quarter, including a pick 6 by Ed Reed.
Won 38-7.

Not much different than this past Saturday, except Miami isnt #1 ranked.

Well that's kind of my point when I say that it won't be much louder if the games were at night instead of noon. Bethune had a better crowd because of the Marching Band, especially with FAMU and JSU also being in town the same weekend...lots of Band folks in the crowd. But if we're not playing a big time opponent people will always find excuses to not show up. The heat being the main one.

Michigan State drew 46K last year, at noon. I don’t know if they travel well, or not.

The canopy overhead has made Noon kickoffs much more tolerable for the majority of seats in Hard rock. I’ve sat in 347 the last two games and it’s been fine. It’s been hotter during the tailgate (Blue Lot E3).
