“You spent “$20m” and went 10-2…”

Interesting observation

neither Syracuse nor Duke spent 20 million on NIL nor did they have generational talent at QB, yet is entirely possible all 3 of us end the season with 10 wins.

can’t help but laugh that Manny Diaz in year 1 at Duke could match Cristobal’s record in year 3 at Miami.

Such is life with Mario.

How is this any diferent than an MLB team going nuts in free agency and still losing

Spending money is no guarantee for success

At least in the pros you are fully commited for a few seasons

This every season is just insane
In baseball the player is still obligated to a contract when they sign. Here just do whatever you want whenever

Yeah but you’re not tryna be Duke or Cuse are you?

You want to be national relevant which means having star players and cache.

And that cost money.

Diaz will Diaz , He has Elkos recruits by year 3 Duke will be a 4 win team.

For the entire roster $20M sounds a bit high, but in the ball park. Cam got $2M of it.

“Welcome to the big leagues of college football.

Now you know what the baseline is.

Sincerely,
The State of Texas”

PS: If you can’t handle this you’re not built to join the SEC or B1G.
And the Miami dolphins spent $220 mil to win 4 games. It is what it is sometimes have to shoot your shot

The DL was the most overrated position group I have seen in quite sometime at Miami. Yes I know Alston and Bain were hurt for some games. Mesidor was out of position all season, Barrow was probably the most consistent, Baron disappeared when the comp got better, Clark sucked.
Yea, the reason I went into the season not as concerned about the secondary as some other people is because I thought our D-Line would be very good and would be able to compensate for any issues we had at DB. Baron played like a beast against Florida and steadily declined, or got worse as the year went on. Bain just didn’t look the same this season, but it probably had to do with the lingering injury. Barrow was really the only one that exceeded expectations this year. I honestly feel like we need a complete overhaul of this defensive staff.

Manny is playing with Elkos recruits and team as Manny's recruiting kicks in they will regress to a 5 win team .

Don't kid yourselves. Revenue Sharing and Salary Cap are coming. So is a Players' Union.

The small schools have no Bag Game, but they do have Congressmen and Senators. There will be Congressional Oversight and Regulatory Intervention to "Protect The Student Athletes" (read: Protect the interests of the Networks and Big Conferences).
More like to keep labor costs down for big corps (Yes universities are big corps now)

Well the title of the thread is correct, but the wrong program. OSU is the only program hitting that mark, who went 10-2. What's more than that, their HC hasn't beaten his rival 0-4 and has a rep for can't win the big game, true. He is making $10 mil a year, both his coordinators make $2 mil a year, his DL coach makes $1.3 mil a year and his WR coach makes $1.6 mil a year. You would think this is our team, the way our fanbase is going insane after going 10-2 for the 2nd time in 20 years. Not OSU winning 10 games a year and debating on firing their HC depending on how this ends.
