“You spent “$20m” and went 10-2…”

We need to do better in how we eval guys though. Out of guys not named Cam or #6, how many NIL guys do you all believe REALLY hit it this year? And let's not bring up our CB/DB evals and recruiting.
we literally only hit on 2 guys. mesidor was always hurt. kiko is trash. powell is meh. hill sucked. richard sucked and got hurt. baron was bad. clark was meh. cook wasnt good. carpenter was okay.

The thing people also aren't getting is it's not like that $20M is exclusively guys we were going all in for this year. This wasn't $20M in the portal. This was a lot of money invested in the 24 class that was #4 class in the nation, and anyone expecting them all to be massive impact players day 1 was trippin. Idk how many times it needs to be said that HS recruiting classes make their largest impact 3 yrs later.

We didn't go the FSU route of just spending big for a 1yr return. We spent a lot out of HS for hopefully a more sustainable result. We probably spent more than we planned because we knew we but on Ward so tried to get last min mercenaries out of portal some of whom hit some not so much. But this has been a sustainable build and spend, not just throwing money out the window.
This is what I don't understand about the fanbase and recruits for that matter. We were not a National Championship contender before season started. Vegas even said we were not ACC championship material before season started. That was after Cam signed. All signs pointed to a 9 win team. We have won 10, lost 2 by one score, and we better win the bowl game. So realistically we are on schedule with Mario's vision. Should we have won 1 more game? Yes. But let's be honest. SMU probably smokes this defense and we lose ACC championship. So why would recruits bail? Are recruits bailing from OSU knowing Day craps the bed in big games? Knowing he might be gone after this year? I do not see that happening. Something is just rotten in Coral Gables if recruits are afraid to come in and keep building. Or maybe that is just college football in general now. A crap show driven by money.

It’s true, it’s why i always worried about Miami for NIL. Yes we have some big boosters but Miami football isn’t a way of life down here. You go to Georgia, Alabama, Louisiana or Texas and the entire state revolves around football, it’s a way of life down there. Texas could go 4-8 for 3 years and their NIL boosters and fans are so dedicated that they would just buy there way out of it and spend more money, it’s the culture.

Nothing one recruit is going to Florida to join his high school team-mates and one is going to the number 1 team in the country with the biggest bags . You all are ******* nuts.

Ole Miss NIL was how much?

Ohio State?
this ... like cmon, you can put a negative spin on anything ... you can easily say you spent 20mil for your best record in 7-8 years with a heisman qb that could potentially set up a pipeline at qb

But the qb eval was so easy, wait for it, even a caveman could do it.

I will never believe NIL numbers until someone shows me a spreadsheet. No is just gonna pay people for nothing, not happening, than they run to the portal. show me a spreadsheet

How is this any diferent than an MLB team going nuts in free agency and still losing

Spending money is no guarantee for success

At least in the pros you are fully commited for a few seasons

This every season is just insane
