WR Shemar Kirk has entered the Transfer Portal.

The 6'1, 190-pound Nashville, TN native joined the Canes in 23 from Reedley Junior College. In his two seasons in Coral Gables, he had 2 catches for 22 yards.

Miami has now lost three receivers to the NFL (Xavier Restrepo, Jacolby George, Sam Brown) and two to the Poral (Isaiah Horton and Kirk).

We 100% need another portal WR preferrably a slot

I would personally prefer a big to replace Horton. Between Ray Ray and the incoming freshmen, I think quality option will emerge at slot. I also feel like we can use Lofton as a flanker / flex, where we may not even have a slot on the field.

toney and moore are elite talents too.

I know Moore was crazy productive in high school. But did he get the separation you expect from an "elite" big? I didn't see it, but admittedly didn't watch his senior highlights so maybe he took another step.

That’s Emory Williams who was never expected to be anything but a back up. This trader and Carr who was wanted by the elites
Just saying we hear a lot about practice -- very little of that came to fruition - specifically almost our entire defense - our secondary was cheeks, so Carr and Trader looking good against them does not elevate a lot of confidences.

Lots of time to improve the roster.

Felt terrible for the kid to drop that TD in the bowl game. 2 years here with 2 catches, transferring here obviously didnt work out, buried on the bench. Finally get an opportunity, TD that likely wins the game, **** pass on a good route and drops it. Knew that was the end of his career here (although prob would have transferred anyways). Genuinely wish the kid well, hope he balls out somewhere (just not smu lol)
