All while collecting 8 million dollars and not having to draw up a play or even call a timeout...so exhausting.

If it's one coach that it shouldn't be exhausting for it's ours..he's a **** recruiting coordinator that's what he was brought here to do cause he ain't coaching up a unit
he can quit at any time and forgo the rest of the money if hes too exhausted. people making it seem like hes curing cancer.

I hate it. Can’t come to love a bunch of mercenaries on teams or when you start enjoying some young, productive guys (pause), they bounce. This is not college football.

This upcoming 2025 season will be my last year with season tickets and for me, this is part of the reason. I’ve had season tickets since 2002.

It’s becoming the NFL more and more and us being mediocre for a 22nd out of 24 years, it’s not worth my investment and time. Plus my partner in crime, my son, is an athlete & now a freshman in high school. He can’t attend most Saturdays with me anymore. I end up going by myself most times.

I’ll just watch on TV.
It’s the reason I stopped watching the nfl.

Is Ryan Williams hitting the portal? Saw a couple tweets but don’t know if it’s legit.

Bama complaining about tampering while they’re tampering here.

coaches can get out of those contracts with a fee as you said and can start coaching the next day at the next school while the kids are stuck (btw, the coach doesn't pay the buyout the schools do - look up what we paid Mario and Manny in the first year of their deal - it included buyout money). the coach makes money in the end no matter what. we paid Mario 14 mill extra in year 1 to compensate for his buyout to Oregon.
Doesnt matter who pays it, the employer is compensated for its employee leaving before the contract terms have been fulfilled.

If the same types of contracts were bing done, It would be fine for the players (employees) to leave as many times as they wanted because the employer would be compensated. Just like with the coaches. And the players would be protected from bull**** collectives like Florida who take advantage of the lack of rules (see Jaden Rashada).

I am all for the players getting paid and getting paid very well. They deserve it. Just put a system in place that makes more sense

Same reason I started watching less nfl and more college was watching players and teams fighting over pennies on multimillion dollar contracts while the teammates and fans lose the most in the end, especially in the years before rookie caps.

Nah, this is waaaaaay worst than the NFL. At least w/ the NFL, we get to enjoy a player on a team at least 4 yrs, unless they r traded, injured, etc.

In college? These dudes can be in the CFP & they r transferring. These dudes could be on a winning team, the #1 option at their position, & they r transferring.

I can appreciate a guy like X, man. He’s the last of a dying breed. Very few players built like him.

I agree it’s worse because it’s unlimited unrestricted free agency twice per year, but free agency is why I stopped watching the NFL, and now there’s a worse version in CFB.

Alabama is pitching him on throwing the ball to himself. Mario behind the trends yet again.

With Horton this feels like pure 💰 related as opposes to not trusting the QB situation

let’s really make it professional .. hs draft .. contracts the whole 9 yds. I’m being sarcastic of course but this current state of college football is pure insanity .

Ward making alot of dudes some money that with a regular QB wont put up those numbers. I am cool with this
Facts. I don't see where all of the outrage is coming from. Horton is not that good. He is stiff, he plays small, he has concentration drops, and he isn't good after the catch. Him being "WR1" is an indictment on the WR room. Like I previously stated, he is about to go to Alabama and be WR3 at best. If Germie Bernard or Ryan Williams were on Miami's roster this year they would be 1,000 yard receivers. They are a level, or 2, or 3 above Horton. Whoever is advising him is an idiot. His targets are going to drop tremendously. The money better be worth it.

Exactly! Remember when players like Jamarcus Russell, Joey Harrington, Tim Couch, Ki-Jana Carter, etc got those crazy rookie contracts without doing a **** thing in the league? It would destroy franchises that were already weak.

The league got wise and created the pay structure due to owner pressure.

Well, the Athletic directors and presidents need to act like the owners and enforce workable structures.

Everyone gets paid but done in a fair way. Basically, everyone in college is on one year mercenary contracts.

If you are a fan or alumnus of a smaller school, your best players will be poached. You are basically the development school now for the larger schools. Even the larger schools are losing solid players at an unsustainable rate.

I think what happened to FSU this past year will become the normal.

If he can get more money then why not. If he came back I wouldn’t have a problem with it but it’s not some huge loss. Cam was going to make anyone do well, he’s that type of qb. We are supposed to look way better at wr and we have not…..we haven’t recruited it top heavy (like 1st round types) imo. Pause

Yeah, he might as well get his money now, not seeing more than a cup of coffee in the NFL.

the school isnt paying the player though. they cant limit what a private organization gives to an athlete in an NIL deal.
