The Canes continue to raid the state of Alabama with the commitment of WR Daylyn Upshaw (Phenix City). The 5’11.5, 180-pound Upshaw used sharp route-running and a sturdy to frame to rack up 59 catches for 1,185 yards (20.1 YPC) and 15 TDs for the 7A state champions.

Upshaw, who ranks as a 4-star on the 247 Composite, chose the Canes over Florida, Auburn and Kentucky.

Upshaw is the 18th commitment in the 2025 class, joining QB Luke Nickel, RB Girard Pringle, TE Brock Schott, TE Luka Gilbert, OT Jaden Wilkerson, OT Demetrius Campbell, OG Max Buchanan, OG TK Muex, OC SJ Alofaituli, DE Herbert Scroggins III, LB Gavin Nix, LB Ezekiel Marcelin, LB Elijah Melendez, S Hylton Stubbs, DB Amari Wallace, DB Tim Merritt and CB Chris Ewald.

Anyone know the kind of competition he plays?

Looks flat footed so his speed could improve if he learns how to run correctly. Kinda a jag imo. Like if Jacolby didn’t have a second gear.
Played the Enterprise squad last year with the trio we were recruiting, and a Thompson team that has a ton of talent in the championship game. Central has been producing really good players recently.

Really good school. He was playing with his teammate 5* Cam Coleman who went to Auburn last year. He does look slow-ish but a good route runner, strong hands and tracks the ball well. Solid WR3 option for this class as a composite 4* nothing more.

**** maybe if Cam Coleman is unhappy next year at Auburn....
