Very skilled route runner.

His stemming is advanced for a HS WR & is a very good hands catcher. Runs the full route tree, which most HS WR's, (especially the ones from a certain region) don't. Has good outside stacking ability as well.

Nice smooth & quick release; no wasted steps or motion. You can tell he's been Coached on how to properly release off the line. He's not doing the Cha Cha slide before running his route & has good transitional movement with his feet getting out of his breaks.

Runs really nice 5 & 3/9 combo routes.

Lacks raw speed & explosion, but will get open off precise footwork & can be a valuable assest in this offense (if Dawson is still here by the time he gets on campus).

You can put him at Flanker or Slot & he'll be a consistent 10-12 yards per game type WR. Is not gonna burn anybody on a 9 route (except for our CB's in practice), but will fit well with the style of QB that Luke Nickel is.

Doesn't look 180, but has the frame to be in that 180-190 range.

The most important tangibles for WR's is footwork & hands, he has both the tools. Speed is important as well, but it's not as critical to the position as it is for CB. Meaning, you can be in the 4.55+ range at WR & still have success in College & the NFL. Plus, scheme is at least 50-60% of the reason for a WR's production (particularly in college). There are tons of WR's who are very productive every season in College who weren't high ranked coming out of HS & won't be Day 1 or Day 2 picks.

I think he's a solid pick up & like the take.

My comp:

His ranking will never reflect his production since he won’t blow away the completion at camps in measurements; height, weight, speed.

How does he compare to Chance Robinson?

I’ve seen the kid multiple times. Most recently in the state championship this year. Any kid that’s able to make plays against Thompsons Secondary I’ll take my chances with. Central is known for producing really good high school WR prospects. Most notably Justyn Ross (Clemson), Karmello English (Michigan), Cam Coleman (Auburn), EJ Williams (Clemson).

The kid may not wow people with blazing speed (He’s not slow) but he will come in very well prepared. And ready to take somebody lunch money! Bama kids love ball man. And they’re raised to be physical and aggressive in the area he’s from. His former teammate was one of the freshman DEs TJ Parker from Clemson who had a good deal of sacks this year in the ACC.

Bo Nix Dad Patrick is his Head Coach. That school will always have D1 talent. A good group of those top kids are actually from Georgia. The zoning is so strange in that area but it’s definitely a school we should cherry pick from as long as we make the state of Alabama a priority, which it seems like Mario will.
I just don't see it. Of course I hope I'm wrong, but I have seen too much hype over the years. We even had a "5 Star" receiver at least twice in recent memory that proved to be less than "JAG".

Except for our CB's in practice 💀💀💀

WR recruiting is not in good place
Cortez Mills Joshua Moore Dallas Wilson Tyler Williams all gone

Looking on the outside in on French and VBrown

Need at least 3 or 4 guys in this class

X , George and Brown gone after this year
WR room will be thin next year

I definitely understand your concern. I’m not saying the kids a sure thing but I’ve seen enough ball in Bama that gives me confidence he can play. Like they always say….

The guys who are productive at WR are the guys that WORK. He’s a worker. That’s what we’ve lacked since we’ve been lackluster as a program. Guys like this will push the Big Dawgs we’re after.

It’s not right now but hopefully with a strong season, we can flip at least one guy.

Definitely will have to hit the portal for at least one, probably two to bridge the gap imo. A true #1 for sure - don’t think Horton is WR1 quality but he can be WR2 or WR3 with a solid season as WR4 this year. Ray Ray has flashed, and hopefully JoJo is ready by next year. It’s a solid core, just missing the the outside absolute stud that strikes fear and forces defenses to adjust their coverages for ‘25.

A lot of time between now and then, however.

We need at least 2 more at minimum between the portal and HS.

Frankly speaking he looks like a JAG.
I’m just commenting that he’s not a burner in response to what I saw on here. He might be a good possession type receiver. I know others think he’s fine as a pickup for the class. I’m fine either way. I hope we land a difference maker though.
