This wasn’t an undefeated team

We don’t need 22 first team all Americans or 1st rounders to beat GTs of the world

Miss me with any talent issues…. This team is good enough to make the playoffs and win game or two and depending on the matchup line up for natty

The defense under Guidry is a complete liability that I struggle with us even getting a win in a 50+ point shoot out unless the other team plays keep away from cam for four quarters
Who are we beating in the playoffs if we got beat down by a 5-4 team? We absolutely have talent issues. We need overhauls at multiple positions.

Bro, Cristobal’s whole shtick is being a tough and physical team. What happens on 4th and short? A ****ty pass that didn’t work. This was a complete game- all 3 phases failed.

Mario doesn’t call the plays. The offense has been the number 1 offense in the country. This fan base *****ed all year last year about Mario staying out of the offense and play calling. But now he failed because he didn’t intervene and over rule the OC? Got it.

I got a bad feeling about the Syracuse game, I think they are going to score a ton of point on this trash defense, but maybe that’s a blessing in disguise. Don’t think getting boat races by SMU in the ACC title game would be a good look for this program anyway.

This team has some issues … they fooled us with that start of the season!

We lose 1 game and people crying like ******* lol we were 7-5 last year people! Jesus. We knew playing the way we have that we would lose some. It was on the defense and the offense this year. But defense forced a punt and we thought we could let Cam take us to a W. Didn’t turn out that way, stop playing games and be a dominant team.

The loss is on Guidry and Guidry alone. The blueprint has been out there. They ran it too a T on offense and defense.

Every play they ran they included shifts, motions, and all the eye candy they could. Every play, our defense took the bait. They motioned a rb out of the back field and two LBs followed him. They put our players in space and the failed miserably. We looked legit lost. They had a 17 play 10 min drive.

Which bled into the offense. They played our offense the best way possible. Using their offense. They went Coverage and rush four. Their front got enough pressure and played enough coverage to slow things down. Their offense dictated how we played offense, and that is not a recipe for success. I can’t truly be mad at the offense when they are forced of their game plan and rhythm.

But at some point, our defense has to make a change idk how or at what level but they do. They should have went 10 in the box and dared King to throw it 15 yards. Idk, but it’s maddening how lost they look.

I’m ****ed and upset. Loss sucked. Whole world can now say I told you so.

I hate to be that guy, but if we were to take a loss at this point, now was the time.

This team needs to take a look in the mirror. And specifically, the defensive the staff. We have a bye week to lick our wounds and figure something out. Schematic changes are needed. We also have a very bad team coming here off the bye week. The whole season is ahead of us. We’re 9-1. 11-1 and an ACC championship is still in reach. A playoff birth is in reach. We can still attain our goals. Hopefully this was the wake up call they needed. It’s still go canes. Future is still in the right direction
This was a team loss. We had the ball with 2min to win the game. Our 2 million QB couldn’t dump off to RB to get to third down. Our defense is awful, but our OLine and pass coverage was terrible. Play calling has zero imagination. No sweeps, or mis direction. This offense would get shut out by Texas or OSU. Martinez is a mismatch on RB out we keep using Fletcher who can’t catch. Where is Chris Johnson, Elijah Lofton, and more plays for Aroyyo. No reason to keep getting more talent and never use it.

Tell me how you know any of that wasn't what he is told to do. Given how many ******* stunts we run that clearly take our guys out of position, and the fact I saw Bain go inside time after time, I'm not so sure. This is what Guidry has our EDGEs doing, period.
I don't know, I'm making an observation from how sh&tty I saw our defense playing. We couldn't set the edge all game, he stood out on several plays, but it was a team effort for sure. This defense looks extremely undisciplined, they take bad angles, miss tackles and give up chunk plays. That falls on Guidry for not getting this fixed period. GT was a one dimensional team and ran it at will against us.

This whole team looks fatigued out there. Say what you want about coaching but this team was outplayed today. Hopefully the time off will help with the remaining schedule.

The team's record is more accurate than it was yesterday. I wish we got away with it, but we didn't this time. You only have so many comebacks. My knee-jerk thoughts:

- The defense is the story for me. We gave up 271 yards rushing to a team with no QB and no RB. We lost time of possession 35 minutes to 25 minutes. We gave up 9 of 14 third downs. On a critical 3rd and 18, we couldn't win up front and left someone running wide open. It was a bad day.

Here's the frustrating part: Guidry had more cards to play than his opponent, and still lost. That's not just a talent issue. I thought the defense would start creeping towards average over the last four games, but we're going in the opposite direction.

- My biggest disappointment is the defensive end position. Before the season, we all knew our secondary would be a weakness. The hope was we'd kill just enough drives with our pass rush. That hasn't panned out consistently. Zero sacks today. Pass rush opportunities were limited, but part of the reason is that the edges were so soft that Georgia Tech controlled down and distance. We just don't perform like a team with two NFL DEs.

- Cam Ward is still the best player in the country. No serious person would compare him to Dillon Gabriel. But he was off today. Missed throws early and struggled with his pocket presence. He had checkdowns available for chunk plays that he consistently turned down. He's the least of my worries, but it wasn't his best day.

- The only bright light was OJ Frederique. That's what a playoff-caliber defensive back looks like. We don't have enough of them.

- If I could bring a recent player back, it might be Jaquan Johnson. We lack a tone-setter in the back seven. The guys that know how to play aren't twitchy, and the guys that are twitchy are either injured or green. Teams are going to continue to challenge our perimeter tackling, and I don't know if we have an answer.

- I didn't mind the decisions to go for it on fourth down. That's who we've been all year. The playcalls and execution are fair to question, but I like trusting the guys who got us here.

- Elijah Arroyo is a high-round NFL pick. Difference-making speed at his size.

- We didn't have a terrible day with penalties (3-35) but it could have been more if a couple targeting calls and a facemask went the other way. This has been a problem all year.

- It's a shame that Popo Aguirre got injured, because he was playing really good football in a LB group that is taking steps backwards. Teams are continuing to take advantage of Kiko Mauigoa in space.

- I'd like to see the All-22 to see how much separation our receivers were getting. We will continue to get challenged by teams with athletic corners.

- I hate that we have to worry about other ACC teams losing. We've been here before and it always ends poorly. But we are in a strong position compared to the past. Most tiebreaker scenarios favor us.

This team needs to get value out of the bye week and handle its business. The goal remains an ACC Championship. I'm less optimistic on the defense than ever, but the offense will give us a chance. Go Canes.

I don't even feel down after the loss. We've over achieved if anything. Most of us knew we aren't THAT good, and neither is Mario. At least it was @ GT, one of the few spots where it wouldn't be totally embarrassing like v. FSU or v. Duke.

Some of you really need to get a grip. Did you see Indiana almost lose to a crap Michigan or Georgia get embarrassed by Ole Miss?
Winning every week is hard. I can name three or four plays that had they gone our way. We probably would’ve won. At the end of the day we didn’t play well enough to win but the season is far from over.

This is flat wrong. At this moment, Miami is absolutely likely to make the ACCCG. They have 2 games to play that they’ll be favored in. If they win both, they will be in the ACCCG. That’s the definition of likely.

Making the playoff would require beating SMU. That one I’ll leave alone for now. But getting to Charlotte, as of this moment, is absolutely likely.
Let's revisit this my friend.

I want you to be right.

Clemson just beat VT correct?

Serious question. With Guidry knowing what GT was going to do why were there no changes? **** UGA went to a 5-2 last week against UF to stop the run. We do the same things over and over and expect different results. What effort is Guidry putting in? Because there’s no way our guys look as unprepared as they do every week.
We used a 5-2 today too

So is it finally ok to say that our DL has been a non-factor and that Bain is having a down year. We are entering the Darrell Jackson realm where we had people swearing he was amazing here even though he had zero production.

It is not on Guidry and Guidry alone.

Guidry reports to someone who could/should step in when he keeps seeing the same thing every single week. The problem is he can't help schematically, and it shows. So Guidry keeps doing the same thing hoping for a different outcome.....isn't that what some define as crazy?
